Reports to: Manager, Facility Operations

Position Overview: The Manager, Lab is responsible and accountable for the testing and production of concentrates and formulated products and all aspects of the tracking and quality control management. Ensures the safe, accurate and timely testing and production of concentrates and formulated products.Supervises and oversees the work of several lab technicians.Coordinates with production schedules and Cure/Vault regarding product inventory and availability. TheManager journals, monitors and tracks all observations in the company's software seed to sale tracking system.

Major Areas of Responsibility include:

• Follow Policies & Procedures for the daily operations and fully comply with state medical marijuana regulations

• Maintains testing and formulating operations by initiating, coordinating and enforcing operational policies and procedures

• Perform QA/QC through analytical testing for quality, consistency and efficacy

• Work closely with production team on all elements of the testing and formulating process

• Design extraction trials and experiments to optimize extraction purity and efficiency.

• Develop new extraction and purification techniques. Keep abreast of developments in the industry.

• Master various techniques for marijuana extraction and infusion, including butane extraction

• Develop expertise in testing and formulating methods as well as the purification, separation and isolation of various compounds of cannabis

• Responsible for inventory, recordkeeping and quality of product at all times, maintaining inventory via seed to sale tracking.

• Responsible for coordinating Waste Disposal of extraction waste and product return waste.

•Facilitates and coordinatesthe operational requirements between in the production workflow

•Responsible for accurately weighing and recording all product weights

• Works in a timely manner and strives to improve quality and maintain accuracy

• Make sure that all concentrates are packaged, counted, sorted and labeled accurately

• Manages day to day issues as they arise, requesting assistance as needed

• Performs all other tasks and duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications:

• All applicants must be at least 21 years of age.

• Master's DegreeinChemistry or similar field

• 3-5 years of experience in related position with an emphasis in an operations production/manufacturing environment

• Experience must include hands-on responsibility for the full scope production activities, both operations and analysis

• Experience with analytical testing required and HPLC-specific experience preferred

• Experience in various cannabis testing or formulation methods preferred

• Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and multitasking skills

• Ability to interact professionally at all times, leading by example

• Manage a controlled workflow in a fast-paced environment

• Passionate about the importance of medical marijuana

• Experience working in a GMP-regulated environment

• Experience in cannabis oil extraction, including decarboxylation, supercritical CO2 extraction, winterization, distillation, and separation, including related equipment maintenance experience.

A successful candidate has the ability to interpret and apply compliance requirements for various departments with previous experience monitoring, investigating, and resolving inventory and QA discrepancies.</p><p><b>CORE JOB DUTIES</b></p><p><b>Compliance:</b></p><p>• Host inspections with state and local regulatory and law enforcement agencies</p><p>• Collect, audit, and file required operational logs from all departments (warehouse ops, transportation, finance, security, HR) to ensure compliance</p><p>• Check and verify information for incoming and outgoing transfer manifests</p><p>• Collect and file all signed transfer manifests</p><p>• Oversee monthly inventory reconciliations of Track &amp; Trace System</p><p>• Conduct routine compliance audits (monthly category &amp; quarterly full facility audits)</p><p>• General compliance support and guidance as needed</p><p>• Additional roles and responsibilities as assigned</p><p><b>Inventory:</b></p><p>• Prepare monthly product and inventory inspection reports</p><p>• Ensure inventory cycles counts are completed on a monthly basis and investigate/ resolve any significant inventory discrepancies</p><p>• Analyze METRC reconciliation reports and file required discrepancy reports with state authorities when applicable</p><p>REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND SKILLS</p><p>• Minimum of 3 years of compliance experience, ideally in the regulated cannabis industry or another regulated industry, such as alcohol, tobacco, or manufacturing</p><p>• Must have the ability to develop and foster strong working relationships throughout all levels of the organization</p><p>• Demonstrated problem-solving skills; the ability to either predict and / or identify and drive problem/issue to resolution in partnership with stakeholders</p><p>• Excellent people and communication skills (verbal and written), with ability to successfully explain complex matters and provide persuasive support for positions with internal stakeholders, outside partners, and to communicate with all levels of the organization</p><p>• Ability to successfully manage a high-volume workload with tight deadlines</p><p>• Detail-oriented and ability to adapt to changing demands and priorities</p><p>• Capable of handling confidential information discreetly and professionally</p><p>• Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint</p><p>• Working knowledge or ability to develop working knowledge of all state regulations</p><p>• Bachelor’s Degree in Compliance, Legal, Ethics or Quality Control or similar field preferred</p><p>COVID-19 Requirements</p><p>Cresco Labs requires that all corporate employees be fully vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus on or before September 30, 2021.
