SC Laboratories, listed as one of mg Magazine’s 2019 Top 50 Cannabis Employers, is an analytical laboratory based in Tigard, Oregon and specializing in safety / quality assurance testing for the Cannabis and Hemp industries. We are seeking to add to our collaborative team environment at this time and are focusing on hiring a Full-time Lab Technician for our Tigard, Oregon facility. Applicants in the Tigard, Oregon area are strongly preferred.

Must be comfortable working with cannabis / hemp and cannabis / hemp infused products within a typical chemical/biological laboratory environment.

Pay Rate: Range to start $15.00 - $17.00 per hour, based on experience

Schedule: (1) Full-Time position (exact scheduling to be discussed)

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Routine laboratory tasks such as cleaning glassware, maintaining chemical inventory/ordering supplies, preparing solutions for use in the daily testing of samples, filing of lab records and retrieving test items from retention, will also need to remove trash products from the lab itself at times
  • Adhere to appropriate quality measures to meet or exceed the standards set by ISO/IEC 17025 and company requirements relevant to assigned duties
  • Maintain records of all quality activities as documented in SOPs and test methods
  • Write and review SOPs and test methods as requested
  • Prepare solutions upon authorization
  • Identify and record actual or potential nonconformities on Corrective Action or Preventive Action Requests, respectively
  • Participate in method development and method validation as requested
  • Correct actual non-conformities and potential non-conformities within the limit of competency
  • Maintain a neat and accurate record system; keep accurate records of work performed on a daily basis and as needed for quality control tests or regulatory purposes using both physical copies and electronic Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
  • Improve Laboratory and/or quality activities on a continuous basis
  • Ability to use basic laboratory hardware such as balances, syringes, and pipettes
  • Recommend more accurate or efficient laboratory equipment or procedures
  • This posting is not all inclusive and positions will perform other related duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Hold four (4) year degree from an accredited college or university with at least 1-2 years of work experience. Preferred: Hold a bachelor’s of science degree in a chemical or biological science from an accredited college or university and have completed three (3) years of full-time, post-educational practical experience in a laboratory performing analytical scientific testing in which the testing methods are or were recognized by a laboratory-accrediting body
  • Must have prior data entry experience
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication with demonstrated skills to follow written/verbal instructions in English
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, use of LIMS and email applications
