As a Production Supervisor, you will ensure our products are packaged and ready for shipping in a timely fashion.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure that a safe working environment is maintained, at all times
  • Lead by example and fosters an environment of mutual respect and teamwork
  • Conduct pre-shift huddles and provide feedback to staff
  • Responsible for leading production team on one or more production lines
  • Lead, coach, mentor and train team members
  • Maintain an open line of communication with operations manager
  • Ensure production schedules are met and issues are handled in a timely manner
  • Co-ordinate the various department schedules, products and manpower to ensure production is streamlined
  • Ensure all SOP’s and WI’s are being adhered to and that quality and safety standards are being met
  • Follow and enforce all GDP’s, GPP’s to maintain compliance with Health Canada
  • Assist in all implementations of new equipment, methods and or products, as well as trouble shoot processes and equipment
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience working in a supervisory role (food, beverage or pharmaceutical experience is preferred)
  • Post-secondary education is an asset
  • Previous experience in production, manufacturing or other related fields
  • Strong computer skills, including Advanced Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Familiarity with manufacturing machinery and equipment
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment with exposure to noise, odors, and repetitive work
  • Reliable and dependable
  • Excellent documentation skills
  • Always maintain a professional and friendly attitude
  • Ability to stand/sit for long periods of time
  • A willingness to learn, and able to follow directions
  • Works well individually and in a team environment
  • Must have accountability, proactive behavior and strong attention to detail
  • Clean criminal record check
  • PLC knowledge would be considered an asset
  • Strong communication skills along with ability to build solid relationships and capability to influence and negotiate
  • Basic understanding of Cannabis laws and regulations would be considered an asset

The following duties, outlined below, are representative of a regular workday as a QAP.</p><p><b>Good Production Practices</b></p><p>· Ensure that all product for sale is produced, packaged, labelled, stored, tested, and distributed in accordance with all applicable regulatory requirements and good production practices.</p><p>· Inform company leadership of critical regulatory changes, or potential gaps in compliance.</p><p>· Maintain company procedures and be capable of creating or revising multiple SOPs and Quality Forms at any given time.</p><p>· Capable of overseeing Health Canada or third-party inspections and responses.</p><p>· Approve and maintain the vendor qualification program.</p><p>· Supports the self-inspection program and compliance to internal QA procedures.</p><p>· Support environmental and sanitation verification through sampling and laboratory certificate of analysis review.</p><p>· Comfortable with COA review and OOS investigation.</p><p>· Ensure staff is properly trained on standard operating procedures and the training matrix is up-to-date.</p><p>· Manage the Deviations and CAPA program, ensuring deviations are handled appropriately and timely.</p><p>· Investigate and respond to customer complaints.</p><p>· Familiarity with provincial distribution channels for Cannabis markets is a plus.</p><p>· Ability to organize and maintain document control systems.</p><p>· Able to work independently to meet goals and established timelines for project completion.</p><p>· Support product recall in conjunction with Coulson Management.</p><p>· Review Pest Control Reports.</p><p>· Other duties as required.</p><p><b>Preferred Qualifications and Skills</b></p><p>· Security-clearance (preferred)</p><p>· Proficient with Google Drive and its applications</p><p>· Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suit (Word, etc)</p><p>· Comfortable working under pressure with tight deadlines.</p><p>· Knowledge of GPP/GMP requirements and methodologies.</p><p>· BSc. in Life Sciences (or Diploma in a relevant scientific field)</p><p>· Recent work experience in the Cannabis industry, especially as a Quality Assurance Professional, would be considered an asset.</p><p>· Ability to effectively communicate with employees.</p><p>· Demonstrated ability to understand and execute verbal and written instructions.</p><p>· Keeps up with scientific knowledge, compliance and industry demands</p><p>· Knowledge of health and safety standards and compliance.</p><p>· A minimum three to five years of quality assurance experience with experience in releasing cannabis batches is preferred.</p><p><b>Qualifications and Education Requirements</b></p><p>BSc. in Life Sciences (or work experience/diploma in a relevant scientific field)</p><p><b>Additional Notes</b></p><p>We would like to thank all applications for their interest but only those selected for an interview will be contacted.</p><p>Job Types: Full-time, Permanent</p><p>Salary: $65,000.00-$85,000.00 per year</p><p>Schedule:</p><ul><li>8 hour shift</li><li>Day shift</li><li>Monday to Friday</li></ul><p>COVID-19 considerations:<br />Covid screening is performed each day with rapid tests available for employees to self-test.
