Job Title: Kitchen Lead - Cannabis Edibles Production

Reporting Relationship: Manufacturing Manager

Position Type: Full Time

Position Summary: The Kitchen Lead will oversee all operations of the kitchen department including production of edibles, food safety, as well as being responsible for staying compliant with all applicable cannabis regulations.

This position will be responsible for ensuring completion of high-volume commercial production of edibles, day-to-day kitchen operations as assigned by the Manufacturing Manager, as well as supervising the kitchen staff on shift. In addition, the Kitchen Lead will meet with the Manufacturing Manager and Production Supervisor regularly to ensure the team is meeting the current market needs while staying on course with the company’s overall strategic vision.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintains a high level of safety awareness for an accident-free workplace and reports any unsafe or hazardous work conditions to Management.

• Responsible for coordinating and training of team members engaged in the manufacturing of all Everest edible products and to provide technical direction to Production Technicians.

• The Kitchen lead will be responsible for high volume production of cannabis infused edibles and will be expected to participate with production tasks as needed.

• The kitchen lead will also be responsible for the preparation and cleanliness of all kitchen workspaces, equipment, and materials daily, as well as maintain logs and develop sanitation related SOP’s.

• The Kitchen Lead is expected to set an example for effective communication within and outside the department.

• Ensure that all kitchen operations and Production Technicians are up to date on food safety protocols and are following those protocols daily.

• Oversee and optimize recipes in accordance with all written Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and state regulations; the kitchen lead will work cohesively with the Manufacturing Manager on the execution of all recipes and perform proper record keeping in Bio Track and laboratory notebooks.

• The Kitchen Lead will take inventory of all materials including, supplies, consumables, and perform administrative tasks, such as documenting all machine maintenance, logging test results, printing labels, auditing products, and preparing samples for laboratory analysis. The lead will ensure the supply of goods for all kitchen needs and will coordinate with Production supervisor to ensure ordering is taking place.

Qualifications:

• This position will require excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask.

• Applicant must be Honest, Trustworthy and must possess good interpersonal, written, and oral communications skills with the ability to not only direct the lab but follow directions as needed in a calm and focused manner.

• Ability to read, interpret, and keep records on a variety documents such as safety requirements, operating instructions, formulas, and policy and procedures manuals.

• Strong attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a constantly changing and fast-paced environment

• Moderate lifting (up to 25-75lbs).

• Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time. Must be prepared for changes in pace, this job is subject to many interruptions which calls for both physical and mental demands.

• 2+ years of kitchen experience required

• 2+ years of supervisory or team lead experience preferred

• Must pass state and federal background check

• As per RLD regulations, a minimum age of 21+ has been implemented for employment in the New Mexico cannabis industry. All applicants must be 21 or over.

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour

This Supervisor will lead the team and will ensure quality, compliance, and consistency of service delivery, and will focus on higher level planning, forecasting, and general business activities of this group The Beverage Supervisor will report to the</p><p><b>Supervisory Responsibility :</b></p><p>Supervision of the Beverage operations and staff.</p><p><b>Essential Functions :</b></p><p>• Manage, supervise, and direct the activities of the Beverage team; make recommendations regarding hiring, discipline, termination, or advancement of employees in department</p><p>• Manage the Beverage process including machinery, equipment and systems including steam, CO2, ammonia and glycol refrigeration, dehumidification, compressed air, quality, and other requisite technical knowledge.</p><p>• Develop and ensure SOPs are being followed for all Beverage activities</p><p>• Lead and support of the Beverage team, identify gaps and weaknesses and allocate resources accordingly</p><p>• Keep detailed Beverage records and submit reports weekly, monthly, quarterly, or as needed</p><p>• Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with Assistant General Manager and Leads</p><p>• Work collaboratively with Assistant General Manager on processes and schedules for accurate inventory and quality management.</p><p>• Assist Team Leads with conflict resolution within the department and address team member concerns and questions</p><p>• Monitor employee progress; guide, train and develop employees in the accomplishment of their duties and goals through professional growth; write, conduct, and oversee individual performance reviews/evaluations of department employees</p><p>• Hold employees accountable for performance; identify poor performance or behavior and coach employee</p><p>• Lead weekly team meetings and participate in daily manager meetings</p><p>• Coordinate with Assistant General Manager to ensure staffing needs are met based on the harvest and breakdown schedules as well as in forecasting future labor needs</p><p>• Work with operations management to establish and manage current and long-range objectives, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), strategic plans and procedures</p><p>• Direct and promote employee safety through Company safety program and create a culture of safety and teamwork in the Beverage department and throughout the facility</p><p>• Ensure all Beverage tools and machinery are in working order and coordinate with the maintenance department to troubleshoot/fix any mechanical issues</p><p>• Provide regular feedback and support to leads and team members in all Beverage related activities</p><p>• Collaborate with the Quality/Compliance department to ensure all aspects of quality &amp; compliance are maintained, including records and documentation, and improved on as required</p><p>• Identify concepts and plans for cost and productivity improvements</p><p>• Manage PTO (paid time off) requests and approvals of the staff; Ensure employees understand and abide by PTO and Attendance policy</p><p>• Collaborate with Supply Chain to ensure timely delivery of ingredients and packaging materials. Ensure proper logging and storage of all materials.</p><p>• Recommend and implement efficiency improvements in the Beverage department.</p><p>• Transfer R&amp;D initiatives to scaled manufacturing processes.</p><p>• Responsible for development and implementation of SOPs, methods, and policies to advance the facility and ensure it meets the needs of GTI.</p><p><b>Minimum Education and Experience :</b></p><p>• Bachelor's degree in engineering or business required; industrial engineering preferred. A strong industrial beverage background is preferred.</p><p>• 3+ years of supervisory leadership experience working in a manufacturing, beverage, beverage alcohol facilities or related industry required</p><p>• Experience in managing employee concerns and resolution</p><p>• Proven success in leading multidisciplinary teams to the highest quality work</p><p>• Demonstrated ability to quickly adapt; maintain focus and a high degree of accuracy while working with different groups, changing deadlines, priorities, and requirements</p><p>• Experience working in a highly regulated space is preferred</p><p>• Highly motivated, self-directed, innovative, and able to work independently or among teams with keen judgement, common sense, and resourcefulness</p><p>• Adapts and thrives in a demanding, start-up, fast paced environment</p><p>• Superior communication and interpersonal skills (verbal, non-verbal, written), with the ability to build relationships at all levels, both internally and externally</p><p><b>Additional Requirements :</b></p><p>• Must pass any and all required background checks</p><p>• Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry</p><p>• Must possess valid driver's license</p><p>• Must be a minimum of 21 years of age</p><p>• Must be approved by state badging agency to work in cannabis industry</p><p><b>Working Conditions :</b></p><p>• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to perform grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.</p><p>• PHYSICAL DEMANDS: May be required to stand, climb, bend, stoop, work at heights, and/or walk for extended periods of time.
