Job Summary:

• The Packaging Manager is responsible for overseeing of all processes’ in the department including but not limited to harvest, destem, properly weighing, tracking, and inspecting all cannabis flower intended for packaging. They are also responsible to communicate to the Processing Lead to follow through with the tasks assigned to the team by the Processing manager. This position is an integral piece of the harvest, cure, and trim process at CannTech PA, focusing on effective teamwork, ensuring that all numbers are correctly reported in the state-mandated inventory tracking system, and only the highest-quality, well-manicured cannabis flower is packaged for sale to our patients.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist the manager in organizing, planning, and implementing strategy

• Oversee leads inspection and weighing cannabis flower, stems, stalks, and fan leaves and input into the state-mandated software system

• Supervise the proper handling and execution of the harvest process

• Ensure quality control post-harvest for a clean, seedless, pest and pathogen-free final product

• Report any instances of identifiable occurrence of mold, mildew, seeds, pests, or pathogens to the Processing Manager

• Aid in the hiring process

• Collaborate on scheduling of new team members

• Assist Processing Manager with any other tasks related to the post-harvest process as necessary

• Allocate duties to the processing team leads as needed

• Assists in fostering a positive work environment, treating everyone with dignity and respect while perpetuating a curiosity for “everything cannabis”.

Working Conditions:

• The person in this position will constantly be exposed to dust, kief, cleaning chemicals and fumes. Although systems are in place to remove these byproducts, there is still exposure to some degree.

• Sitting, standing, and walking motion/movement will be required

• Lifting or moving items up to 50 pounds may be required

• Constant movement and use of hands/fingers and limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina.

• Must be able to inspect and detect quality defects.

• Work on weekends and alternate shifts may be required

In the Controller's absence, the Chief Finance Officer or designate will cover daily duties.</p><p><b>Responsibilities</b></p><p>• Lead full cycle accounting;</p><p>• Lead monthly close and variance analysis, including reporting package to senior management team;</p><p>• Assist Chief Finance Officer with elements of external IFRS quarterly financial statements to be posted on Sedar;</p><p>• Oversee inventory costing, tracking, and reporting;</p><p>• Oversee financial management, internal reporting, forecasting, budgeting, tax, coordinate the audit process and act as a liaison with auditors;</p><p>• Develop, monitor, and enforce policies and procedures relevant to accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and project tracking;</p><p>• Compliance reporting to Health Canada and the CRA;</p><p>• Oversee internal controls to the standard of a publicly traded company;</p><p>• Provide financial simulation and projection analysis for projects including ROI and depreciation;</p><p>• Work with Operations to drive strong business focus on inventory analysis and reporting with accountability;</p><p>• Be proactive in key financial performance measures, analysis and recommendations of financial and trend data to senior management and stakeholders;</p><p>• Monitor legislation, regulations, policies, and procedures applicable to financial reporting and operations, and ensure compliance.</p><p>• Support business decision-making through the provision of finance and commercial insight, challenging assumptions and preconceptions, and supported with relevant and effective analysis;</p><p>• Streamline month-end close, and provide accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end closing financial statements and reporting;</p><p>• Other duties as assigned.</p><p><b>Requirements</b></p><p>• Accounting designation is required (CPA/CA/CMA)</p><p>• Minimum 5+ years of experience in a senior management role</p><p>• Experience working in a cannabis or cannabis-analogous industry experience considered an asset</p><p>• Experience with public company reporting requirements considered</p><p>• Experience with cost accounting</p><p>• Experience within a manufacturing environment considered an asset</p><p>• Experience with financial models, budgeting, forecasting and capital project analysis</p><p>• Proven experience in establishing reporting and forecasting processes.</p><p>• Thrives in a fast-paced dynamic start up environment</p><p>• Willingness to roll up your sleeves and perform tasks outside of the traditional job description</p><p>• Ability to self-manage with remote supervision</p><p>• High level of integrity, confidentiality and accountability</p><p>· Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy</p><p>• Strong understanding of operational matters from a financial perspective</p><p>• Demonstrated finance experience in evaluating, interpreting, presenting financial information and trends to senior management and stakeholders</p><p>• Strong problem identification and problem resolutions skills</p><p>• Proficiency with Sage X3, QuickBooks, payroll software and the MS Suite of programs.</p><p>• Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with other departments, key business partners, and government agencies</p><p>Embark offers competitive compensation packages for all of its employees</p></div>","company":{"companyType":"Private/Growth","name":"Embark Health","logoUrl":"/logos/embark-health-inc-0980e67930dd0f0b945c2ab663bc7489.jpeg"},"location":{"country":"Canada","address":"Vancouver, BC","city":"Vancouver","stateProvince":"BC"},"frontendLink":"/job-posting/embark-health/controller/f9ea90e2a56e1e1f5aaae686d4539d18","title":"Controller","category":"Medical & Healthcare","hash":"f9ea90e2a56e1e1f5aaae686d4539d18","postingUrl":"https://ca.bebee.com/job/20211006-eb2a47dce3a5ed1fb6d01289b729a3ff","salary":"$160k - $290k"}]
