Job Title: Sanitation/Maintenance Technician Department: Maintenance
Reports to: Security Manager
Job Summary:
Sanitation within the facility is crucial to the survival of the crops. The external and internal appearance of a building reflects on the occupants. It is important for the Sanitation Technician to be careful and thorough in working, cleaning and tidying the premises as to prevent any cross contamination between departments and outdoors to indoors.
The role is focused on building upkeep. Great physical endurance to cover a large space. A keen eye for detail and diligence are also imperative in this role. Small upkeep and constructions projects will be part of this role as well.
The goal is to optimize Sanitation procedures and succeed in producing reliable and important results that can be used to make a difference.
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Ensure spaces are prepared for the next day by taking out trash, tidying furniture and dusting surfaces
• Sweep and mop floors and vacuum carpets
• Wash and sanitize break room, toilets, sinks and showers and restock disposables (e.g. soap)
• Wipe mirrors and windows
• Maintain outer premises by watering plants, mowing lawn, cleaning entrances as needed
• Perform maintenance and minor repairs (replacing broken switches, fixing door handles, minor leaks etc.)
• Report major damages and oversee repairs
• Undertake occasional custodial and janitorial tasks (shoveling snow from the sidewalk, lifting heavy items, moving chairs etc.)
• Washes the employees uniforms in our onsite washer/dryer area and sorts by employee ensuring that employees have clean uniforms for their shift everyday
• Other duties as assigned.

Work Environment
Production environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, safety is paramount. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. The job is performed indoors and outdoors. Exposure to heat/cold bright lights and organic chemicals is expected. Protective safety clothing, shoes, glasses, goggles, gloves, facemasks, or hat are required as needed.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. Employees must stand or sit for long periods and engage in the repetitive use of hands, wrists, and forearms. The employee must be able to lift and carry up to 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, with a schedule of Monday-Friday 7:30am - 4:00pm. Overtime is occasionally expected.
Requirements:
• Must be 21 years of age
• Proven experience as custodian, janitor or in a similar role
• Knowledge of use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances
• Knowledge of safe disposal of chemical liquids and other hazardous components
• Very good physical condition and strength
• High school diploma is preferred but not required
• The role is based out of Egg Harbor Township, but the applicant needs to have the ability for transportation between all (3) NJ locations
