We are currently seeking candidates for the position of Sales Manager - BC/SK/MB/YK . This position will be based in Vancouver, BC.
Reporting to the Director of Field Sales, this is a management role that will be responsible for developing a team of field sales representatives and leading market activities in British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Yukon. The Sales Manager role is crucial in achieving the key performance metrics within these two provinces and driving corporate strategy and initiatives. This is an exciting fast-paced sales environment for a qualified individual that has a relentless passion to foster, develop and motivate a sales team, drive volume with Regional Accounts and promote brand awareness and education in a fact-based manner.
Job Responsibility Summary:
People - Responsible for recruiting, motivating, and driving a sales team in British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Yukon. Both the continued development of a team culture as well as daily support to achieve commercial priorities and executing plans are key to success in this role. The Sales Manager will coach, mentor, and provide feedback to team members on a consistent and ongoing basis. As a follow up, they will also be expected to assess individual performance through observation and measurement, and work through development and succession planning as necessary. Consistent days in market working together with the field sales team will be a significant mandate for the Sales Manager.
Accounts - The Sales Manager will be the key contact for the portfolio of Regional and emerging accounts in British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Yukon. They will be the contact person to maintain and grow existing partnerships as well as identifying new sales opportunities based on market share, volume, and distribution. Allocating resources and collaborating with the field sales team and leadership will be crucial for success as it relates to regional account development.
Budgets - Effectively manage a budget to drive volume and share growth within acceptable trade practices, according to inventory availability and merchandizing guidelines. Budget management will be done collaboratively with Sales management team to support ongoing KPIs and opportunities on an individual market basis.
Process & Procedures - This role will own the weekly and ongoing in market priorities and focuses with the field sales team in both provinces. The Sales Manager will be responsible for setting sales goals, evaluating performance, adjusting as needed and as fits in to the ongoing quarterly KPI structure. Together with the Director, this role will look to improve support tools and processes for the field sales team.
Cross Functional - Ongoing collaboration with the sales leadership, marketing, trade, and product teams to deliver feedback, suggest process improvements and provide appropriate support tools to the field sales team.
Qualifications:
• Post-secondary education with a degree in Business, Commerce, or a related field;
• 3-5 years in Cannabis, Pharmaceutical/Medical, Alcohol/Bev, Consumer Packaged Goods industry with sales experience;
• Proven track record in successfully motivating sales teams and driving excellent results;
• Exemplary communication, product knowledge, problem-solving and attention to detail;
• Results-oriented with strong analytical skills;
• Ability to work remotely and independently;
• Clean drivers abstract;
• Be a strong cross functional team player that can work in a very agile and ever-changing industry;
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
