Manager, Payroll & HRIS

We are looking for a Payroll guru who has extensive experience using Ceridian Dayforce. Reporting to the Director, Total Rewards, you will be accountable for coordinating all payroll activities, collaborating with our finance department, directing and supervising our Pay & HRIS Analyst and ultimately ensuring the accurate and timely provision and processing of full cycle, end-to-end payroll for 1000+ employees in Canada. Our ideal candidate is analytical and methodical, with experience in payroll administration and deep knowledge of payroll regulations. We also value integrity, team spirit and strong organizational skills. Your goal will be to ensure our payroll procedures are compliant, efficient and current.

Job Responsibilities:

• Accountable for ensuring the accurate administration, remittance and reporting of Payroll related activities in compliance with relevant employment standards and government legislations

• Administer employee deduction processes, garnishee payments and court ordered payments

• Responsible for employment related regulatory remittances and related reporting

• Review, establish and monitor internal controls to ensure that payroll processes are in accordance with legislation as well as company policies and procedures

• Manage and update information pertaining to business and/or legislation changes including year-end updates

• Provide Corporate G/L with support needed to reconcile all payroll general ledger entries

• Support employee life cycle in Dayforce and other benefits / rewards systems (Manulife, etc.)

• Develop standards, procedures and user guides for system functionality

• Provide advice and guidance on all payroll matters including payroll systems, record keeping, analysis, and reporting

• Continuous improvement of processes to ensure data integrity and system workflows are intact

• Maintaining accurate account balances and detailed records for auditing

• Produce regular and ad hoc reports as needed

Competencies & Requirements:

• Degree or Diploma in Business Administration, Accounting, Human Resources or related field; professional payroll certification is a plus

• Previous experience in payroll processing

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Ceridian Dayforce

• Strong knowledge of payroll processes and relevant legal regulations

• Excellent communication skills, strong math and analytical capabilities combined with attention to detail

• Excellent understanding of multi-location payroll and taxes

• A collaborative and compliance centric approach to payroll
