About The Role

It is an exciting time at Dutchie as we are in the early stages of building our team. Data Platforms is the core team at Dutchie for building a world-class data platform that enables analysts, product managers, executives, business functions, researchers, and data scientists to harness the full power of data responsibly. In the Data Platforms org, we build and operate technologies for data storage, management, and processing at scale, along with core applications that use those technologies.

We are looking for a Senior Manager who is customer-obsessed and thrives in a fast-paced environment. This role requires strong leadership, business acumen, solid communication, technical and project management skills. As a Senior Manager in the Data Platforms org, you will oversee data analytics and analytics engineering functions. The Analytics Engineering function is focused on building data models, writing production-quality dbt code with an eye towards performance and maintainability, ensuring data quality, automating and scaling repeated ad-hoc requests, data cataloging & documentation of the data products), acting as a thought partner to determine data requirements for downstream analyses.

The Data Analytics function will build data models to provide metrics that measure company and organizational performance, OKRs, and metrics about our products. These analytics will help guide product roadmaps. This can include insights that drive changes to UX or design, new feature adoption, the usage among features, and more. You will partner with the business analytics, data scientists, and data governance functions on multiple projects to build data products that many teams across the company will consume.

What You’ll Do…

• Build a diverse and distributed team and a collaborative environment.

• Be a mentor and manage the professional development of direct reports through personal and performance management.

• Define business logic and build company-wide visualizations for KPIs and overall business performance for business and product organizations.

• Perform ad-hoc analyses for requests that cannot be answered via existing dashboards.

• Work cohesively with stakeholders to understand their issues top-to-bottom, break down those complex problems into critical components, and provide timely and adequate data solutions.

• Build, maintain, and document complex calculations and data models for reporting.

• Ensure data quality and integrity.

• Identify data needs for business and product teams, understand the specific requirements for metrics and analysis.

• Help establish the data team’s best practices and standards to ensure high-quality work as we continue to grow.

• Partner with the Data Governance team to implement data compliance policies and tooling.

• Act as a thought partner to determine data requirements for downstream analyses.

What You Bring

• 7+ years of relevant experience in data analytics designing, creating and maintaining performant data models and readable analytics and visualizations.

• 3+ years of hands-on management experience.

• Experience writing complex, highly-optimized SQL queries.

• Experience with Snowflake (BigQuery, Redshift).

• Familiar with version control tools like Git, dbt and Airflow, or willingness to learn.

• Experience building advanced visualizations that are easy to understand in Looker, Tableau, Sisense, Power BI, or similar tools.

• Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, think big, execute strategically and tactically, and motivate and mentor your team to deliver business values to our customers on time.

• You know how to help team members navigate priorities and communicate clear expectations with stakeholders.

• Business acumen to understand which data products and insights will be actionable to stakeholders.

• You have a passion for taking a customer-driven approach to building high-quality software. You take pride in owning & maintaining what you have built.

• Skilled at coaching and guiding your directors and ICs through their career development. Experience in performance management, hiring, and growing teams.

• Excellent written and verbal communicator to technical and less technical audiences, as well as product management, project management skills and a demonstrated ability to work autonomously.
