Internal: Operations, Production, Packaging, Commercial and Product Innovation

External: Health Canada, vendors , suppliers

Responsible for Quality Control and Quality Assurance for We Grow BC and Thunderchild LP (collectively, the “Facilities”)

Role Purpose/ Summary:

It is the responsibility of the Director of Quality and Compliance to oversees We Grow BC’s and Thunderchild LP’s quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) department for all of its operations, including, cultivation, production, processing and packaging. The Director is accountable for the development, implementation and ongoing monitoring of the quality assurance and control systems applicable to the Facilities, in strict compliance with all applicable QC/QA regulations.

Responsible for setting up and maintaining the necessary infrastructure and systems for continued compliance to the Canadian Cannabis Act and its associated Regulations. Responsible in keeping the Facilities’ Cannabis License in good standing.

Key responsibilities:

• Act as the qualified person in the release of finished product

• Manage the Quality budget within We Grow BC and Thunderchild

• Continually monitor GPP regulatory requirements for the Cannabis and their associated regulations such as those for Natural Health Products.

• Analyze the gap between regulatory GPP requirements and operational systems

• Consult and advise functional departments on establishing systems to eliminate GPP gaps

• Establish and implement all quality and GPP systems

• Manage all quality functions and personnel related to the cultivation , production, testing, packaging, storage and testing of cannabis products

• Manage specifications, testing and releasing of incoming raw materials and outgoing products

• Oversee development and use of a Quality Systems tracking database

• Make final decisions on critical non-conformances and rejections and determine product rejection disposition options

• Liaison with all departments and subsidiary companies to support the production, sale and marketing cycle

• Communicate key quality performance indicators effectively across the organization

• Participate in the handling of customer complaints and responses as it relates to quality

• Manage customer requests for technical information relating to quality

• Manage the qualification and approval of vendors, contractors, and contract labs as required

• Manage quality agreements and contracted obligations of suppliers and third party customers

• Provide consultation on quality requirements concerning manufacturing, third party customers, and government

• Manage quality audits and technical tours

• Provide quality input on R&D projects

• Participate in validation planning and execution

• Approve master equipment calibration specifications and review outside contractor calibration reports

• Coordinate annual plant wide GPP and new hire GPP training

• Manage technical protocols and reports as they pertain to quality

• Manage the stability program

• Domestic travel required.

• A Bachelors Degree in Science related field from an accredited post secondary institution. A combination of a Technical Diploma with a minimum of five (5) years Quality experience is also acceptable.

• Minimum 5 years practical Quality department experience in a pharmaceutical, nutritional, food or health products manufacturing environment

• Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing operations and GPP

• Experience in a manufacturing environment an asset

• Knowledge of pharmaceutical, food and natural health product regulations

• Experience with manufacturing and inventory management software, LMIS software systems, and other QA tracking database systems an asset

• Health Canada security cleared (preferably)
