JOB SUMMARY

Cresco Labs is seeking a Vice President of Retail Development to join our corporate team in Chicago, IL. As a member of the Sunnyside* Retail Leadership Team, The VP of Retail Development is a key strategic leader in the successful conceptualization, rollout, operations, and maintenance of Sunnyside* dispensaries. This individual will serve as the lead for new-store openings, new market integrations, and major store renovations. They will serve as the key liaison between Retail Senior Leadership, Construction, Real Estate, Compliance, IT, Security, and Store Operations (Regional Director, Dispensary Manager, Security, Training & Development, Visual, and Retail Marketing).

CORE JOB DUTIES

Holistic leadership and on-time delivery of Sunnyside retail expansion, including but not limited to new store openings, rebranding, improvements to existing locations, and M&A integrations.Leads the end-to-end integration of key functional workstreams and deliverables, including construction, real estate, marketing, IT, HR, security, compliance, and government affairs, to successfully complete projects on-time; drives clarity to key trade-offs and associated decisioning in service of revenue, cost, and business impact targetsOversees the successful opening of new stores and completion of key projects, ensuring successful implementation of all state regulations and compliance requirements, in addition to the execution of all Sunnyside visual and design standardsAccountable for the execution of all visual and design standards, budgets, and vendor relationships across all stores in the Sunnyside network, including the planning, deployment, and installation of key elements in partnership with regional and store team. Successfully balances the need for both network-wide consistency and scale, while addressing critical local and community-specific nuance.Collaborate with brand marketing and store design teams on all future brand expression, build-outs in service of driving elevated and more effective customer experiencesServes as a key retail representative upon due diligence kickoff with the M&A team, including contributing to M&A leadership business case drafts and initial deep dive of CAPEX needs, revenue expectations, branding integration, compliance, etc.Anticipate future trends and articulate vision and plans that create competitive and breakthrough strategies, showing a clear connection between vision and action.Partner with cross-functional leaders and department peers to ask the right questions, acquire data from diverse sources, uncover root causes, and evaluate pros/cons and risks/benefits to make decisions

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND SKILLS

10+ years of fast-paced retail development experience with multi-unit responsibility, cannabis experience a plusProficient in MS Office, Highly Proficient in MS Excel + TableauStrategic thinker that consistently demonstrates an ability to flex areas on focus, including the ability to make sound decisions, at times under pressure, with a combination of analysis, wisdom, experience, and judgement.Ability to identify market trends and anticipate opportunities within the cannabis industry, constantly demonstrating an excitement to adapt and learnExperience building and managing a team with the appropriate mix of styles, perspectives, and experiences while establishing a common objectiveCoach and Leader mentality with a strong emphasis on creating a feeling of belonging by fostering open dialog, collaboration, and sharing wins/rewards in a team environmentDemonstrated ability to drive top-line and bottom-line results with a track record of exceeding goals successfully.Highly influential to help drive results from other team members and cross-functional peers, collaborating effectively and fairly across shared objectivesStrong business acumen including data management, attention to detail, and excellent communication and interpersonal skillsHigh level of integrity, personal motivation, and sense of urgencyVarying hours of work that may include travel up to 50% of the time
