Position: IT Business Analyst (HR & Legal)
The Opportunity Canopy Growth is currently seeking experienced Business Analysts to join the IT team. In this role, the Business Analyst will work closely with an assigned business unit or functional area of the business to conductprocess reviews, complete process mapping activities, collect business requirements, and implement best in class IT solutions to support business operations. From project initiation through to execution and post implementation support, the business analyst will use their excellent communication skills and positive customer service oriented attitude to ensure that IT is continually implementing solutions to enhance our HR and Legal operations
Responsibilities Document business and systems requirements, define scope and objectives. Work to understand, elicit, analyze, document, and communicate program and platform/application objectives as a suite of stories and/or specifications. Work cross-functionally to create flow diagrams for user flows, system flows, and processes to help identify risks, dependencies, and requirements. Detail and maintain all requirements received from product owners, stakeholders, the development team and supporting teams.
Review, analyze, and evaluate user needs to source, create, and modify systems solutions that support overall business strategies. Balance and prioritize a backlog of user stories - reflecting both customer value and effort to deliver. Adjust backlogs to reflect accurate scope, effort and priority information as it becomes available. Evaluate information captured from various sources, reconcile conflicts of information, break down high-level information into details, and clarify details for the team to understand how to define an efficient solution.
Understand and apply core functionality of all finance applications and platforms to support the core finance team. Support the finance team's processes, helping to balance work in progress, and deliver improvements for efficiency. Support delivery of initiatives, removal of obstacles, and be the point person for developers. Champion and build positive relationships with collaborators to effectively prioritize and execute business initiatives.
Contribute to road mapping and mapping of business requirements. Answer questions and clarify requirements for projects and enhancements during the estimation process. Project manage all IT projects that impact the legal and or human resources teams Provide 3rd level support for third party and custom developed applications used by the functional area you will be supporting Other duties as assigned Experience Experience on large and complex technology projects with a focus in the cannabis or consumer packaged goods industry.
Strong ability to navigate ambiguity, overcome confusion and simplify complex situations.
Ability to communicate, produce documentation, prepare and lead sessions Solid presentation, facilitation, interview and workshop facilitation Excellent understanding of the consumer packaged goods and/or cannabis industry,
Experience with Dayforce, Workday, Solium Shareworks or contract management systemsis an asset
Experience working in an Agile environment. Previous experience with collaboration tools and methods.
Ability to present complex information clearly and concisely. 5 or more years of experience in a similar position, using and implementing core administration tools. Undergraduate degree or diploma in Computer Systems, Computer science, Business Administration, Human Resources or Legal A minimum of 2 years of process mapping and process design experience Cross-functional Project/Product experience Project Management or Management Consulting experience a strong asset Previous experience implementing systems using a PLCM is desired
