Roles & Responsibilities

The business liaison is accountable for ensuring the current and upcoming technology needs of the cultivation and manufacturing facilities are being met by the IT Department by

  • Consulting with senior business leaders and subject matter experts in order to understand their technology and business process problems and needs
  • Identifying opportunities for improvement in business operations and processes
  • Coordinating with business stakeholders to collect and document detailed business requirements for IT solutions
  • Working closely with IT teams (architects, developers, etc.) to ensure solutions meet business needs
  • Creating system documentation, user manuals, job aids and process maps
  • Plan, produce end user materials, and deliver training
  • Work with HR to maintain and manage training documentation
  • Performing business validation of IT solutions
  • Organizing and facilitating user acceptance testing
  • Owning IT-oriented communications with end user groups
  • Being the escalation point for service and support issues
  • Monitoring IT service levels and advocating for IT process change where required
  • Coordinating projects from concept to delivery
  • Performing data migration from old to new software solutions

Education & Experience

  • Post-secondary education
  • ERP software knowledge and experience (Sage X3 preferred)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience on at least 1 ERP project (full-lifecycle)
  • Relevant work experience in subject area preferred but not required

Requirements

  • Strong interpersonal, communication and relationship-building skills, fluent in English
  • Ability to work independently and manage time
  • Ability to effectively prioritize work
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Analytical approach to problem solving
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Working “business knowledge” of Sage X3 Enterprise Management preferred
  • Proficiency in Process Mapping tools (Microsoft Visio and LucidCharts preferred)
  • Available to travel to the company’s Fenwick location
  • Must pass an RCMP security clearance

Physical Demands

While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to be able to lift up to and including 50lbs, sit and/or stand for extended periods of time and reach with arms/hands. Walking, standing, bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling and moving items is occasionally required.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to packaged cannabis products/supplies. The working environment can be noisy at times and temperate, the employee must have knowledge of how to manage their own personal safety under these conditions.
