If so, our A-Team is the perfect place for you! Our team is searching for a dynamic professional to join our Coast team (Comox) in the role of Operations Technician! In this role, you will have the opportunity to jumpstart your career at Aurora by assisting the Operations Team in maintaining the facilities mechanical and electrical infrastructure and also supporting in general construction activities and the Cultivation Team when needed at Aurora Coast – Aurora’s cutting-edge cannabis breeding greenhouse. Sound exciting? Here is a little more… As an Operations Technician, you will… Assist in maintaining electrical and mechanical systems that support the greenhouse and research building. Undertake small-scale construction activities such as building or retrofitting greenhouse tables, greenhouse irrigation, or exterior landscaping. Undertake routine maintenance such as changing filters or screens. Work with outside contractors or other Aurora staff to undertake more complex maintenance or repairs. Work with the Cultivation Team to support planting, harvesting, and greenhouse cleaning when needed. As an experienced professional you will have… Practical experience with mechanical equipment and control systems. Practical experience with electrical equipment and control systems. Knowledge of basic construction techniques. Experience with safety requirements such as lifts, ladders, and PPE use. Strong interpersonal and communication skills within a multi-disciplinary team. Broad knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and control systems. Demonstrated ability to quickly adapt; maintain focus and a high degree of accuracy while repairing or maintaining complex equipment under a deadline. Self-motivated and team focused. Excellent communication skills. Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Basic computer skills such as email, Microsoft Word and Excel. Time management and follow-up skills; highly organized and detail oriented. Effective team player and leader; approachable and supportive. Bonus points if you have… Experience working in a greenhouse environment is considered an asset. You’re the perfect fit for this role because… You have minimum of 5 years’ experience working with mechanical, electrical, and related systems. You have minimum of 5 years’ general construction experience.
