Our client Canada House Wellness Group is seeking a Junior Accountant for their Oromocto, NB based office. Canada House Wellness Group is a leading cultivator of medical-grade, high-quality cannabis, and provider of cannabinoid therapy, targeting the medical cannabis markets globally. Canada House was founded by military veterans and now is managed by a group of cannabis executives with experience in medical services, operations, retail and international business development. The role is within Canada House Clinics Inc., experts in cannabis therapy with 13 locations across the country.

Responsibilities:

• Preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements for department leads

• Maintain an accurate and complete trail of supporting documentation for all financial and bookkeeping activities

• Monthly receivables preparation, related to partner agreements and multidisciplinary activity

• Enter all receivables and corresponding payments as well all payables for selected entities

• Financial schedule preparation for monthly prescriber appointments

• Weekly Physician billing payables and reconcile with the patient software

• Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly as well as financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information

• Apply monthly allocation methods to the various accounts, as necessary

• Prepare bi-weekly and monthly payrolls for 4 entities

• Set up journal entries such as accruals and prepaids monthly as well as at the yearend

• Assist in audits and general ledger preparation

• Prepare schedules, working papers, and analysis to support the Senior Accountant with various financial reporting

• Provide analyses of medical patient data noting trends month to month

• Train in other areas of Finance to assist colleagues

• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• 5 plus years of experience in accounting

• 2 plus years of payroll experience

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Advanced competency in Microsoft Office with strong skills in excel (Pivot Table, VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, Formula Audit and Fixing Errors)

• Knowledge and practical experience in SAGE and QuickBooks accounting software

• Experience with electronic medical records software is an asset

• Payroll experience, with a payroll certificate is preferred

• A sound understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices

• Meticulous attention to detail with strong organizational skills

• Critical thinker with an analytical mind, strong conceptual and problem-solving skills

• Ability to multi-task, work independently and as part of a team as well as under pressure, to meet deadlines

• Capable of interpreting and implementing company policies and procedures

• Lifting or moving up to 10lbs may be required

Canada House Clinics offers competitive salary packages as well a great benefit plan, paid time off and an incredible work environment. The typical hours for this position are Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm with some overtime required
