The purpose of this role will be conducting assessments to screen patients for eligibility for medical cannabis. Upon ensuring the eligibility criteria, this role is to authorize medical documents for medical cannabis.


● Review patient charts and patient intake forms prior to patient consultation visits.

● Conduct patient assessments to determine eligibility of patients for medical cannabis.

● Assist in all aspects of patient care presenting for medical cannabis assessments via the online Homecare platform

● Provide information to patients pertaining to benefits and side effects of medical cannabis

● Complete medical documents for medical cannabis authorizations

● Complete and follow patient treatment plans and consultation notes after each patient appointment.

● Maintains confidentiality and follows the code of conduct as per the College of Nurses of Ontario.

● Licensed Cultivators


● Current registration with College of Nurses of Ontario

● Completion of Prescribing Narcotics and Controlled Substances (CPD) course

● 2 years experience as NP

● Superior verbal and written communication skills

● Experience using an Electronic Medical Records system

● Well-developed presentation skills

● Excellent working knowledge of Windows-based software applications

● Proven analytical and problem-solving skills


● Excellent organizational skills, with special consideration to time and Clinic operations

● Strong conflict resolution skills

● Excellent bedside manners towards patients

● Demonstrated ability to make quick decisions and solve tough problems

● Works well independently, can manage multiple priorities, and is solutions oriented

● Ability to stay up to date on scientific research pertaining to medical cannabis

● Have a thorough understanding of the medical benefits of cannabis and the ACMPR

● Must have the ability to assess and provide recommendations to patients that are suitable candidates for medical cannabis.


Work remotely

Daytime / Evening, office environment with moderate meeting attendance required.

Physical effort limited to interaction with a computer screen.

Must be available to work evenings and weekends, including some holidays
