Position

Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Manager of Financial Reporting for Cannabis will be responsible for the books, records, and financial reporting inclusive of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements in accordance with IFRS. This individual will also be leading the completion of the audit and other assurance engagements as required by the company, and will liase with the Parent Company Finance function to ensure consistency across the businesses of the Parent Company.

Responsibilities

  • Draft all monthly, quarterly, and year-end reporting under IFRS inclusive of budget to actuals working papers and note disclosures
  • Liase with the Parent Company on corporate matters, including the accounting and reporting of corporate transactions
  • Coordinatefull cycle accounting process for month-end, quarter-end, year-end close with Manager of Accounting
  • Ensure compliance with new and amended IFRS policies
  • Manage, monitor, forecast and report the movement of cash balances and cash flow throughout the entities
  • Lead the annual financial statement audit alongside the Director of Finance, including preparation and review of audit working papers and coordination with external auditors
  • Maintaining responsibility for any monthly IFRS statement adjustments and entries
  • Be responsible for the tax provision calculation under IFRS for the Group
  • Complete budget preparation and updates
  • Ensure accurate and timely compliance reporting to financial lending institutions as required
  • Assist in the preparation of financial plans
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Chartered Professional Accounting (CPA) designation required
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience
  • IFRS experience is required and experience in a financial reporting role or at a public accounting firm is considered an asset
  • Quickbooks online experience is considered an asset
  • Established commitment to high professional ethical standards
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills and the ability to make decisions to move forward
  • Demonstrated attention to detail
  • Data-driven decision making skills
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
  • Ability to self-navigate problems and provide recommendations to leadership and the Parent Company‚Äôs finance team
  • Proven ability to organize, plan and manage multiple priorities and projects under tight deadlines
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Expert Microsoft Excel skills
