Job Description

Position Summary: The IPM Manager oversees the facility’s Integrated Pest Management program to ensure safe and compliant application of state-approved pesticides, beneficial insects, and biocontrol agents. This individual is responsible for the elimination and control of pests and substances that can impact crop health and yield

Essential Functions:

• Develops and oversees a comprehensive Integrated Pest Management program for the facility using approved pesticides, beneficial insects, and biocontrol agents

• Coordinates closely with Cultivation management team to adjust treatment programs to precisely target pests when they emerge; solicits feedback to align on department goals

• Creates, disseminates, and tracks completion of work orders for chemical mixing and application

• Manages routine audits and inspections to identify all plant pests and generates treatment plan maps to address issues; performs data analysis and prepares reports for department leadership

• Oversees recruitment, selection, and training for IPM Technician team, maintaining adequate and efficient staffing levels to meet operational goals and ensuring compliant, safe, and effective application of all compounds

• Provides coaching and counseling opportunities to direct reports; gives feedback on performance, including providing annual performance reviews and applying corrective action as needed

• Ensures a safe work environment through ensuring all team members receive training on standard operating procedures and follow all PPE requirements when fulfilling work orders

• Manages routine cleaning and maintenance of all equipment used for compound application

• Maintains compliance with state cannabis regulations

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 21 years of age

• Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, plant science, pesticide management preferred

• Certificate in pest management required

• 3 – 5 years of management experience required, preferably in a manufacturing environment

• Cannabis industry experience with IPM a plus

• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel

• Experience in Lean/Six Sigma work environment a plus; must possess a continuous process improvement mindset

• Must possess written and verbal communication skills

• Demonstrated ability to effectively multi-task and manage time both independently as well as within a team environment

• Must have a reliable personal vehicle

• Must be able to pass a background check in accordance with state regulations
