The LDB is one of two branches of government responsible for the cannabis and liquor industry of B.C. We operate the wholesale distribution of beverage alcohol and non-medical cannabis within the province, as well as the household retail brands of BC Liquor Stores and BC Cannabis Stores.

Finance is separated into five work groups (Finance Corporate, Corporate Audit, Finance Wholesale, Finance Retail, and Shared Services) and provides financial services to all LDB departments. The Finance division provides financial reporting, advisory services, budgeting, capital asset reporting, and financial transactional processing (banking, accounting payable, accounts receivable). Finance is responsible for the LDB’s enterprise risk management program and oversees regulatory compliance for BC liquor manufacturers/warehouses.

The Manager, Finance Inventory is accountable for the integrity of all aspects of BCLS inventory transaction processing, including financial controls and period end processing. The position participates in financial system design projects and continuous improvement initiatives. The Manager supervises a team of finance inventory analysts and support clerks.

Education and Experience:

The following equivalencies will be considered:

• Degree in business administration or accounting or equivalent discipline and one year of recent, related experience*

• Diploma in accounting or business administration or equivalent discipline and three years of recent, related experience*.

• Certificate in accounting or business administration or equivalent discipline and five years of recent, related experience*.

• Recent, related experience must be within the last 5 years and include:

• Providing professional oversight to retail transaction processing, including financial controls and period end processing (see ‘Accountabilities section’ of the JD for more details).

• Supervising two or more employees in financial administration roles.

Preference may be given to candidates with the following:

• Experience in the beverage alcohol industry/supply chain, or a large retail environment.

• Canadian professional accounting designation (CPA) and is a member in good standing. Please indicate the year of your CPA designation in your application. Note: If your designation was obtained from outside of Canada, you will need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through an applicable Canadian Accounting Association.

Reporting to the Regional Director, s/he ensures that the cannabis produced meets the company s expectations of quantity and quality and meets and exceeds the requirements set forth in regulations and law.</p><p>Essential Functions: Leadership and management<br />*</p><ul><li>Model, foster, and sustain a culture of excellence and inclusivity; holding self and others accountable for individual and team development that align with the needs of the business.</li><li>Create and maintain a transparent, open, and cooperative working environment in which all employees understand their responsibilities and accountabilities, the responsibilities and accountabilities of their peers, and how these relate to and affect the company s goals.</li><li>Ensure that cultivation facilities are operated in a manner consistent with the company s culture and values, above and beyond what is required by law and regulations.</li><li>Leading periodic all staff meetings</li></ul><ul><li>Management</li><li>Ensure that all employees are properly trained in Cure SOPs</li><li>Line management</li></ul><ul><li>For Cultivation Manager and DTCP manager:</li><li>Schedule shifts and paid time off (PTO)</li><li>Train staff on company cultivation and harvest SOPs</li><li>Provide coaching and performance feedback</li><li>Conduct periodic performance reviews</li><li>Measure individual and team metrics</li><li>Take any corrective actions needed</li></ul><ul><li>As the company s resident expert on the technical aspects of cannabis cultivation,</li><li>Set the propagation schedule and ensure it is adhered to</li><li>Set the harvest schedule and ensure it is adhered to</li><li>Participate in cloning and harvest, as needed</li></ul><ul><li>Maintain all production records, and ensure their accuracy, including quantities and types of cannabis harvested, materials consumed, integrated pest management practices employed, etc.</li></ul><ul><li>Business results</li><li>Actively solicit feedback from retail and processing managers, and wholesale sales lead, to stay current with trends and demand in the market.</li><li>Lead all cultivation research and development projects, in accordance with plans agreed upon with the Director of Cultivation.</li><li>Verify that all finished products leaving the facility meet or exceed Cure s standards</li><li>Accountable for costs, production levels, hitting schedule</li><li>Ensure that operations do not exceed budget</li></ul><p>Working Conditions:</p><ul><li>While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to perform grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and other repetitive motions.</li><li>The employee is frequently is required to stand for long periods of time, use hands for detailed work.</li><li>Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
