We are looking for an Inventory Manager to join our team, developing and executing on a strategic approach to inventory and supply chain management. This role will partner with internal Operations & Product Development teams and external vendors to work to optimize inventory levels while at the same time providing world-class service to all Lord Jones retail partners and consumers. You’ll have the opportunity to create best-in-class supply chain and inventory procurement processes, supporting the continuous growth at Lord Jones.

This position is based in the Greater Los Angeles Area.

Responsibilities

  • Track and manage inventory for all Lord Jones components, from ingredients, product packaging and samples to point-of-sale materials and marketing items
  • Measure inventory accuracy, exploring variances and ensuring corrective actions
  • Partner with Product Development, Packaging, Project Management, Operations and Finance Teams to ensure inventory needs are met on time and on budget
  • Lead the execution of a comprehensive inventory strategy, including network inventory planning, balancing and optimization, establishing warehouse inventory controls, and defining operational goals for inventory management and procurement
  • Drive inventory improvement initiatives to completion, championing change and continuous process improvement
  • Develop, implement, and use tools and technology for managing and analyzing inventory
  • Initiate reorder process for all inventory items as needed for reorders
  • Track reorder flow from PO request through delivery, proactively identifying challenges and risks and ensuring timely communication to internal stakeholders on execution changes and threats to project and production timelines
  • Manage procurement cadence/demand planning with respect to seasonality, channel development and scaling, line extensions, new product introductions
  • Manage and help to develop SOPs for inventory management including cycle counts, physical inventory movements, ROPs, managing Kanban levels, obsolete inventory disposition, inter-company transfer of inventory and managing safety stock inventories for major national accounts
  • Establish and enforce inbound shipment receiving process at all DCs & third-party vendor warehouses
  • Ensure that compliance regulations are adhered to while moving product in and out of our warehouses and facilities
  • Manage a Production Planner, supporting coordination of customer work orders and managing stock levels

Skills & Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in supply chain management, logistics, procurement, business administration or a related field preferred
  • At least 3 years of related experience/training in supply chain, logistics or inventory function/department, preferably in a manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of experience and education
  • Previous experience with inventory tracking and forecasting from fully manual (spreadsheets) to fully automated (advanced planning and forecasting tools) environments, SAP experience a plus
  • Demonstrated relationship management skills to build and maintain effective partnerships with internal clients and suppliers
  • Analytical skills to assess client requirements and develop innovative strategies and options, factoring in potential risks and issues
  • Project management and organizational skills to plan, coordinate, and lead major inventory projects and translate business needs into documents/requirements
  • Oral and written communications to provide advisory services to clients; prepare and present inventory reports; traffic contracts, legal agreements as needed; liaise with internal resource contacts and external stakeholders; conduct meetings and presentations
  • Experience within the food & beverage, supplements, wellness and/or beauty industries is a plus (but not required)
