Position Summary:

The Senior Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management in our Pennsylvania, Maryland, and New Jersey Grow & Process locations. Formulates and fosters relationships across the Human Resources function to deliver value-added service to management and employees. Strategizes within the areas of employee relations, performance management, employee training and development, reward and recognition systems, employee engagement, and compliance in order to support our Grow Facilities management teams.

Role and responsibilities:

• Partners with three (3) State Directors to transform business objectives into HR strategies, including but not limited to: supporting organizational initiatives for leadership development, performance management, compensation, employee training and development, reward and recognition systems, career pathing, succession planning, compliance, and employee relations.

• Builds employee engagement and retention through various efforts.

• Streamlines HR processes and procedures across all Grow & Process locations

• Completes in-person field-based employee focus groups to assess location culture. Make recommendations to management based on feedback received.

• Develops, implements, and supports HR programs and processes across 3 locations to increase overall effectiveness of the TerrAscend business.

• Analyzes people trends and analytics and makes recommendations.

• Manages work/performance issues while ensuring legal compliance across employee relations issues such as employee complaints, harassment allegations, leveraging employee abilities and managing risk. Effectively investigates issues, makes recommendations, and takes appropriate action.

• Oversees local talent planning which includes implementation of function-wide training and development plans and talent management support including support of leadership assessment process. Partners with district and center management to identify and address talent development needs.

• Partners and liaises with Talent Acquisition function to ensure workforce planning, recruiting and hiring strategies are met.

• Provides management training to new and existing managers across the network.

• Conducts exit interviews, analyzes trends in turnover, hiring, promotions, separations and grievances to determine support or action needed to adjust unfavorable trends; provides reporting and analysis on turnover trends

• Helps to support managers through employee leave of absence processes by serving as a liaison between the employee, leave of absence team, and management. Helps to answer employee and manager questions related to leave of absence, FMLA, short-term disability, and personal leave of absence.

• Other HR and business projects as assigned.

Requirements include but not limited to:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field required

• 7+ years of progressive Human Resources experience required

• Multi-site, multi-state management required.

• Excellent verbal and written communication

• Able to effectively communicate at all levels of the business

• Prior Human Resources professional experience working with leaders in a large / matrix organization is a plus.

• Ability to work independently with minimal direction.

• Supervisory experience strongly preferred.

Clean and maintain all areas, equipment, and material throughout the work area.</p><p>Perform daily walks throughout the cultivation facility to visually inspect equipment operation and plant health</p><p>Test equipment in the field as needed</p><p>Other duties as assigned, including, but not limited to assisting other departments to help facilitate the additional and/or supplemental work, such as, harvesting, trimming, packaging, cleaning, and light maintenance as needed throughout the facility.</p><p>(This is not a primary responsibility for this position but may be required as needed)</p><p>Workspace and Material Maintenance</p><p>Maintain organization and cleanliness of immediate work area and shared spaces.</p><p>Ensure all equipment and tools are properly maintained, calibrated, transported, and stored.</p><p>Keep and maintain equipment maintenance and repair logs.</p><p>Compliance and Reporting</p><p>MED Badge-Must be able to secure appropriate work credentials from the Colorado Department of Revenue, MED.</p><p>Follow all state and federal compliance regulations, as necessary.</p><p>Report any violations of compliance regulations to management.</p><p>Supervision</p><p>This position works under the direct supervision of the Cultivation Controls Manager</p><p>Working Conditions</p><p>Able to use a computer and/or hand tools while sitting or standing for extended periods of time.</p><p>Able to move about a typical office, manufacturing, and warehouse environment.</p><p>Able to work in typical agricultural conditions, wearing cover-all uniforms and/or protective layering.</p><p>Able to kneel, bend, reach, rotate, and stoop on an intermittent to regular basis daily.</p><p>Able to lift and move up to 50 pounds occasionally.</p><p>Occasional travel by conventional means including aircraft, motor vehicle and the like within the region and to other locations as required.</p><p>Job Qualifications</p><p>Work Experience</p><p>At least three months experience working with automated controls systems. This can include cultivation related systems or other commercial processes.</p><p>One year of work experience in a related industry or work environment preferred</p><p>Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite (primarily Excel and Word).</p><p>Understanding of computer networking preferred</p><p>Experience working in a fast-paced production environment preferred.</p><p>Demonstrates attention to detail.</p><p>Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to work as part of team.</p><p>Knowledge and background in commercial cannabis cultivation strongly preferred.</p><p>Pay range $16.00-$22.00/hr</p><p><b>Education</b></p><p>High School Diploma or equivalent required.</p><p>College education or technical training preferred.
