Payroll Specialist needed for our growing team! You will be responsible for handling payroll processing for 5-15 clients at a time. You will independently own payroll processing for cannabis operators and assist across benefits administration and compliance. You will have the opportunity to partner cross-functionally to ensure our payroll and benefits processes are robust and scalable to support clients future growth!

What You Will Be Doing

  • Partner effectively with the People team, and other cross-functional teams such as Operations and Finance, to record and process any needed changes to each pay cycle
  • Assist with employee inquiries concerning their pay, W-2s, benefits, etc.
  • Process associated payroll taxes and payment of employee benefits, including all payroll and benefits reconciliations
  • Maintain strict confidentiality over employee data and information, ensuring full compliance with data protection laws

The vision of the Licensing Division is to provide a transparent and efficient methodology enabling our customers to easily engage the Georgia Department of Agriculture by fulfilling our customer’s business needs.</div><br /><div></div><div>This <b>Administrative Assistant</b> position will serve as the Licensing Coordinator for the newly established Georgia Hemp Processor’s and Grower’s License Program.</div><br /><div></div><div><b>Job Duties:</b></div><div>The duties of this position include:</div><div></div><ul><li><br />Collects, compiles, and analyzes programmatic and operational data, investigates underlying trends, irregularities and possible causes for changes in data.</li></ul><br /><div></div><ul><li>Documents underlying trends, irregularities and possible causes for changes in data.</li></ul><br /><div></div><ul><li>Evaluates data for quality and completeness.</li></ul><div></div><ul><li>Performs validation and testing of plan to ensure adequacy.</li></ul><br /><div></div><ul><li>Prepares reports, and makes recommendations or determinations based on analysis.</li></ul><br /><div></div><ul><li>Processes and reconciles all payments from all license programs</li></ul><br /><div></div><ul><li>Work alongside all licensing team members to improve the licensing process.</li></ul><br /><div></div><ul><li>Provide internal and external assistance to all customers; assist with information concerning the licensing process as well as honoring all the State’s commitments to customers by providing helpful, courteous, accessible, responsive, and knowledgeable service.</li></ul><br /><div></div><div>Other duties as assigned.</div><br /><div></div><div><b>Job Summary:</b></div><div>Under direct supervision, performs a wide range of office administration duties for assigned functions or program areas, duties may be complex in nature and may involve access to confidential information. Represents program or unit, provides information and assistance to internal and external customers.</div><br /><div></div><div><b>Entry Qualifications:</b></div><ul><li>Associate degree from an accredited college or university OR two years of related experience.</li></ul><br /><div><b></b></div><div><b>Preferred Qualifications and Skills:</b></div><ul><li><b>Ability to demonstrate strong written and verbal communications skills</b></li><li><b>Two year’s work experience providing direct customer service</b></li><li><b>Two year’s work experience in the area of regulatory or licensing-related programs</b></li><li><b>Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word</b></li><li><b>Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university</b></li></ul><div></div><div><b>Other Duties:</b></div><ul><li><b>Assist other members of the Licensing Team as needed</b></li><li><b>Provide back-up functions to other Licensing Coordinators during periods of heavy license renewal cycles and to help cover scheduled and unscheduled absences</b></li></ul><br /><div></div><br /><div><b>NOTE:</b><b> The Georgia Department of Agriculture conducts background checks on all final candidates.
