We are looking for an experienced candidate who is ready for a challenge and can properly staff and build departments to efficiently meet the demands of this fast growing cannabis company.   • Manage a small team (2-3 people)
  • Support employees throughout the employee life-cycle; recruitment, selection, on-boarding, off-boarding, and more.
  • Manage the recruitment process including job postings, phone screens, the coordination of interviews and the job offer process.
  • Monitor KPIs such as retention and payroll percentages and generate ideas to improve numbers.
  • Advise management on organizational policy, such as equal employment opportunity and harassment: recommend changes as needed.
  • Maintain company handbook with most recent policies.
  • Oversee all HR processes and maintain accurate records.
  • Perform difficult staffing duties such as dealing with understaffing, refereeing disputes, firing employees, and disciplinary procedures.
  • Engage in general Human Resource related questions; escalate issues and collaborate with consulting partners as appropriate.
  • Work with administrative leaders to create process improvements.
  • Facilitate Human Resource related projects or initiatives which may include facilitating completion of job descriptions, supporting the performance review process, working with teams to increase employee engagement, help create and implement a positive company culture.
  • Setting and reviewing pay structures, employee perks, and benefits
  • Manage benefits, including finding best plans, enrollment, and all questions.
  • Process all unemployment and worker’s compensation claims.
  • Research and provide recent updates/revisions to Federal, State, and Local laws.
  • Conduct investigations when complaints arise.
  • Serve as 1st point of contact for payroll, benefits, and risk management inquiries.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Business Management required, unless substituted with 5 years’ experience in a HR Manager role.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Human Resources.
  • PHR or SHRM certification strongly preferred.
  • Experience in cannabis industry strongly preferred.
  • Highly proficient with MS Office.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to prioritize and delegate work
  • Knowledge of Federal, State, and Local laws that influence employment.

The Sr. L/D Manager will work to research and implement the best practices for ongoing retail training in employee excellence and will hold responsibilities for the coordination, promotion, and evaluation of employee development programs.
