Position Overview:

The HR (Human Resources) Business Partner “Business Partner” serves as an HR Generalist for assigned groups and manages HR operations activities across the organization. The Business Partner works across the Human Resources function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives and values of the organization. The HRBP serves as a consultant for management on human resources-related issues. The HRBP proactively communicates needs to HR and business management. The HRBP supports strategic planning and implementation of HR initiatives to include performance management, employee engagement, organizational effectiveness, recruitment and retention strategies, policy interpretation and compliance, and employee relations.

The Business Partner will work with managers to anticipate and meet the evolving needs of the organization to ensure alignment between business strategy and HCM practices.

Major Areas of Responsibility include:

  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation to managers and employees. Ensures consistency across all markets.
  • Resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, timely, and objective investigations while mitigating risk.
  • Works with recruiters to meet staffing goals across all levels. Ensures that hiring standards are met.
  • Identifies training needs for business units and individual coaching needs. Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR department to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
  • Performs benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, Workers Compensation, LOA management, approving invoices for payment and communicating benefit information to employees.
  • Maintains employee-related databases. Prepares and analyzes reports that are necessary to carry out the functions of the department and Company. Prepares periodic reports as necessary or requested.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance pertinent to the day-to-day management of employees; collaborates with the legal department when necessary.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information regarding the company and its employees

Minimum Qualifications (Skills, Knowledge & Abilities):

  • All applicants must be at least 21 years of age
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business or Organizational Development
  • Five to seven years of progressive experience in Human Resources positions
  • Experience in recruitment methods, compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, diversity, coaching, and performance management
  • Proficient knowledge of employment laws and practices, FMLA, EEOC, FLSA
  • Working knowledge of human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee and union relations & awareness, diversity & inclusion, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws
  • Understanding of the medical marijuana field desirable
  • Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality
  • Excellent conflict management, interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Solid business acumen, management reporting, and problem-solving skills
  • Superior written, verbal, and non-verbal communication skills
  • Ability to develop strong relationships, build trust-partnerships and experience working with senior level executives
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions in a manner consistent with confident leadership
  • Knowledge of Colorado marijuana laws, MED regulations, and CDPHE requirements; Previous marijuana industry experience preferred with priority given to candidates with experience in CO licensed facilities
