Verano NJ is a licensed operator of a cannabis cultivation and processing facility in Branchburg, New Jersey, and we are looking to add passionate, exceptional talent to our team!

Job Summary:

The Purchasing Manager is responsible for developing purchasing strategies, maintaining positive relationships with suppliers, coordinating with internal teams regarding their supply needs and overseeing the day to day purchasing activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the purchasing materials, work with vendors to maximize pricing, and reduce costs and maintain inventory levels.
  • Source and negotiate contracts with suppliers to attain acceptable quality, best price, and timely deliveries.
  • Build and maintain good business vendor relationships while seeking out new or alternative vendors as required.
  • Resolve order and billing discrepancies in coordination with accounting and vendors.
  • Process returned purchased items that are not acceptable or do not meet specifications.
  • Communicate with Shipping & Receiving regarding incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Monitor weekly orders and assist with production on scheduling needed items.
  • Adhere to and enforce regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Monitor weekly purchase orders.
  • Keep team members informed of inventory issues.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have strong people skills.
  • Must have strong verbal and written skills.
  • Must have attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel.
  • Must have ability to negotiate.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Must be able to successfully register with the state's cannabis commission as an agent.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, or related field preferred.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to remain in a stationary position, move and/or position oneself, communicate, operate and/or prepare, place, position objects, tools, or controls. The employee must occasionally move packages weighing up to 25 lb. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close observation and the ability to adjust focus.
