THE OPPORTUNITY
The Director of Security manages a staff of security guards who are responsible for patrolling and inspecting the organization’s property against diversion, theft, fire, vandalism, and terrorism, as well as ensuring the safety of personnel and visitors while on or about the organization’s premises.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Report to VP of Global Security to implement a nationwide security program in VA.
• Review, understand state cannabis regulations specific to security and safety
• Work with local regulators during inspections and investigations specific to security
• Solid understanding of Federal, State, and local regulations, national standards and best practices relating to security systems. Must be aware of the implications of legislated requirements that impact security for the site
• Oversee physical safety and security of the organization’s facilities/property and people – employees, vendors, contractors, shippers, and visitors
• Build and lead a team of security personnel in their day-to-day duties and responsibilities.
• Ensure that security staff is adequately equipped and trained
• Develop training plans for security personnel staff
• Develop, implement, and maintain a physical security (security risk management) plan for all facilities
• Manage and report to top management on security incidents and threats
• Oversee and report on security checks/surveillance/monitoring
• Authorize access to facilities and ensure that access is controlled
• Maintain and review security records; periodically report on trends, anomalies, and concerns
• All other duties as assigned
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:
• Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, psychology, or other related fields of study is required,
• 5+ years of experience in security
• 1+ years of management experience is preferred
• Civilian/military police experience preferred
• People management skills to lead a diverse team of security/police personnel
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
• Knowledge of experience with physical security systems (hardware and software) a plus
• ASIS or other similar security organization certifications (e.g., CPP, PSP, LPC) are desirable
• Regular use of phone and email for communication is essential.
• The ability to remain in a stationary position roughly 50% of the time, as well as the ability to move about the facility (patrolling, performing security checks, etc.) – sometimes rapidly – is required
• Occasional heavy lifting 25lbs (e.g., injured persons) may be expected

Job Summary Cresco Labs is seeking a Vice President of Security to join our growing team and support our Security operations across all our Retail, Operations, and Headquarters locations. Reporting to the SVP of Compliance, the VP of Security will be a key player in driving effective security strategies overall while looking for ways to enhance our strategies around vendor selection and management, incident response, emergency management procedures, and physical security infrastructure. Core Job Duties Building a World Class Security Program Responsible for the comprehensive security risk mitigation strategy and plan for all Cresco Labs retail and operations facilities. To include planning and training/toolkits where applicable. Collaborates with Compliance, Operational Excellence, Retail, and Environmental Health and Safety on strategic and operational processes and plans to create a world class safety and security program. Responsible for all aspects of security vendor management – including gap assessment and vendor selection, Master Agreement negotiation, cost management, billing, and logistical management of vendor representatives.
