We can extract 80 pounds every 20 minutes with ethanol - possibly the biggest capacity in the state. On the marijuana side we sell bulk THC oil and water soluble ). On the hemp side we sell bulk D8 oil and water soluble ingredients to end-formulators nationwide (vb-). We're in a new building that is well maintained.

We have an off-site consultant, one of the best in USA. We're looking for a wiped film distillation expert to join our team onsite full time or part time to get our distillation unit functioning consistently and we help get production ready one or two more distillation units because it's the choke point in our lab compared to the volume we can extract and decarb.

We have a dedicated team but not getting this part of the lab functioning consistently is holding us back. Our team consists of chemists and skilled handymen and could use an expert who has worked with various distillation troubleshooting scenarios and reached successful outcomes. We have an hplc onsite for quick test results. Looking to hire someone immediately. Candidate must already be living in the Oklahoma City metro area to be eligible for this job.

• Requirements*

After submitting your application you'll receive an email for part two to answer the questions below. APPLICANTS ARE REQUIRED TO COMPLETE PART TWO. These answers give us clues that are even more important than your resume. It basically saves you and us time to help interview candidates before the actual interview. Thank you

1 Our extraction method is -20 C ethanol or colder and we run mostly THC. We have a Lanphan FMD-100A you can see details of the machine Have you qualified a distillation machine before to a repeatable SOP?

2 We are switching to liquid nitrogen (-300 F) from dry ice (-75 F) in our cold trap to try to make the vacuum better and more stable. We know how to search for vac leaks by spraying ethanol where we think there are leaks and watching the vac level. The best we can get to is 005 with dry ice and vac hops around too much, one potential cause for our runs to be inconsistent. We are upgrading our heaters to help with poor vac issues. Any ideas to help?

3 We have been able to achieve gorgeous looking distillate in the 80% range. We want to be in the 90% or above with one pass and the color look good. This depends on six factors - feed speed, wiper speed, evaporator temp, condenser temp, vacuum level, gear pumps speed. Why do you think you're qualified to be the lead person onsite to get this process perfected?

4 We have heat tape around the plumbing below the main chamber where the wiper blades run and all around the waste side. We also use a heat gun actively during the process and it still gets clogged at times. Cleaning can take up to 3 hours. We clean with ethanol, then a 1:1 ratio of zep and water, then more ethanol. We recently fixed our decarb process to properly decarb every time in a measurable way. How can you reduce our daily cleaning time?

5 The diffusion pump oil runs dry too often. The heating element in the diffusion pump has gone out 3 times in six months. The vacuum pump oil needs replaced daily to run properly, we just recently started letting it run all night to purge the vapors out of it. Maybe liquid nitrogen will help keep volatiles in the cold trap rather than going to the vacuum pump. We may be inadvertently causing the wipers to wear down. Have you experienced these issues and can help?

• Benefits*

Hourly or salary role with monthly production (6%) bonus

Annual development bonus allocation is 2.5% of all annual salaries, if you score a 3.4 or above you're eligible for a bonus, capped at 10% per individual. This considers unplanned absences, attitude, etc.

Health Insurance – we pay 50% (United Healthcare UHC Bronze Choice Plus POS 5000 BRNE)

PTO 1 hour per 20 hours worked (13 days/year), 1 hour per 17 hours after 5 years, 1 hour per 14 hours after 10 years

Paid holidays

$50 monthly cell phone reimbursement

401k eligible 6 months after start date with expense ratio options ranging from 0.064% to 0.07% AUM

Optional registration for pre-tax eligible expenditures savings (especially beneficial for families)

Gusto Cashout – free and no risk tool for employees to cover expenses between paydays

Employee discounts

Schedule:

Day shift

Monday to Friday

Work Remotely:

No

Can't find a position that fits your skill set but want to express interest in working at Volta Biotech?
