Reporting to the District Manager, the Shop Manager is responsible for overall management of the shop, staff, merchandise, and customer service. He/she will also be responsible for maximizing sales and profitability by focusing on key business initiatives, while minimizing loss and exposure to the company. The Shop Manager sets the tone for the day, maintains the culture of the business, protects the brand, inspires the employees and shows compassion for the customer.

Responsibilities

Provide coaching, training and support to your team

Maintain a high level of product and service knowledge

Demonstrate and lead an outstanding customer service experience and establish a sales-focused culture

Analyze the business, propose and implement action plans to improve results, generate sales for each product category creating new clients and reactivating former ones

Develop and deliver events and incentives to grow business

Work closely with the merchandising team to ensure appropriate stock and assortment levels are met

Make recommendations for shop renovations, upgrades and expansion to increase sales and market share

Responsible for all shop opening and closing procedures

Demonstrate sales leadership by playing an active role on the selling floor and leading by example

Adhere to and uphold loss prevention systems to prevent all possible opportunities for loss and endangerment

Builds and increases customer retention, foster strong relationships, and develop brand awareness and loyalty

Complete all necessary administrative paperwork in a timely manner including creating staff work schedules and ensure appropriate shop coverage

Control daily invoices petty cash and take necessary actions to effectively control costs and ensure efficient operation in shop

Responsible for management and maintenance of shop inventory

Review and submit sales and operational reports to management

Ensure maintenance of cycle counts, inventory accuracy and shrink requirements

Create a supportive environment to develop/motivate staff through goal setting, performance monitoring, monthly touch base meetings and shopwide meetings to coach and deliver timely feedback

Recruit shop associates with specific qualifications and skills that meet company and market standards

Enforce company policies while adhering to proper procedure regarding disciplinary action

Identify individual and team training needs

Ensure timely submission of accurate timesheets

Other duties as assigned

Experience and Background

1-3 years of experience at a supervisor/manager level in a customer service/retail environment

High School diploma, post-secondary education is an asset

Energetic and enthusiastic with a passion for our products

Proven track record of success, leading a team within a high-volume retail environment

Strong interpersonal, communication, organization and execution skills.

Ability to juggle multiple priorities

Strong leadership skills and the ability to coach and mentor team members

Ability to use POS system and its inventory management functions

Ability to maintain composure under pressure

Working knowledge of Medical and/or Retail Cannabis an asset

Knowledge of Local, Provincial, and Federal Laws and Regulations pertaining to Medical and/or Retail Cannabis

Located in Saskatoon, SK this position will report directly to the HR Manager. If you are interested in building global challenger brands, scaling a business, and working in a values-driven environment, we want to hear from you</p><p><b>The Opportunity</b></p><p>Reporting to the Director, Accounting – North America, the Manager, Accounting will be responsible for leading the financial monthly close for various legal entities, including the day-to-day accounting tasks and monthly reconciliations.</p><p><b>Responsibilities</b></p><p>• Facilitate and manage the month-end close process and prepare financial statements</p><p>• Work closely with the operations team to ensure accurate and timely reporting of inventory balances</p><p>• Review and approve various monthly reconciliations</p><p>• Analyze financial statements monthly and report on variances versus budget/prior year/forecast as required</p><p>• Work closely with the accounts payable and accounts receivable teams and ensure continuous communication and follow-up with key outstanding customers and vendors</p><p>• Lead the tax and other compliance filings</p><p>• Responsible for ensuring compliance with internal control requirements</p><p>• Oversee the monthly expense report process, ensuring submissions are timely, expenses are properly classified, and accounts are properly reconciled</p><p>• Other projects as assigned</p><p><b>Experience</b></p><p>• Accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA or CGA) strongly desired</p><p>• Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting/Business or equivalent</p><p>• 5-7 years of accounting experience</p><p>• Experience in cost accounting or a manufacturing environment an asset</p><p>• Demonstrated understanding of US GAAP</p><p>• Proficiency in Excel and ERP experience required, experience with SAP or Sage a definite asset</p><p>• Experience in a public company and SOX experience ideal</p><p>• Excellent communications skills and ability to communicate and influence all levels in the organization including a broad base of finance and business partners</p><p>• Initiative and results oriented and strong attention to detail and accuracy</p><p>• Critical thinker and strong problem-solving skills</p><p>• Ability to lead, direct and manage a team</p><p>• Proficiency in planning and prioritization and ability to multi-task</p><p>• Ability to build productive relationships</p><p><b>Other Details</b></p><p>This is a full-time role based out of Ottawa or Toronto.</p><p>We appreciate your interest, and promise to review all applications, but we will only be contacting those who best fit the requirements.</p><p>We welcome and encourage applications from people with disabilities.
