Responsibilities and Duties

· Assay development on GC/MS, GC-MS/MS, HPLC, and LC-MS/MS platforms

· Chemical extraction from various matrices common to hemp industry and cell-based assays when needed (for the environmental chemical testing for risk assessment)

· Sample preparation of variety of matrices common to hemp & CBD industry

· Sample analysis of inbound samples for potency analyses

· Develop team of technicians

· Define testing protocol

· Operate within an ISO-17025 laboratory

· Operate within GLP standards

· Complete and effectively communicate data analysis results to cross-functional colleagues

· Analyze and interpret data

· Deliver analytical data and results interpretation on a timely basis but be able to switch priorities as they arise

· Able to multi-task while maintaining a clear sense of priorities

· Document and report results promptly

· Help specify new methods, tools or streamline methods for capability, efficiency and cost

· Maintain equipment and troubleshoot issues

· Provide training to junior scientists in instruments/protocols

· Must be able to quickly adapt to new and different methods for the operation of software and equipment

· Must have the ability to describe precisely what is being done and problems that arise to others

· Computer proficiency

· Ability to communicate clearly both orally and by writing
