Position Summary:

Fluresh is seeking a Controller to join our finance and accounting team in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Reporting to the VP, Finance, the Controller will oversee the financial accounting and reporting function of the Company and will support management by providing accurate and timely information for operational and strategic decision making, and compliance with external reporting obligations. Our ideal candidate has an entrepreneurial spirit and must be a self-starter who is highly organized with great attention to detail.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Strong financial acumen accompanied by knowledge of corporate finance and manufacturing costing principles; understand P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow dynamics

• Demonstrated ability to lead a small team of individuals, accountable for the overall performance of the team

• Manage all aspects of the General Ledger; support accounting team in the preparation and or review of all periodic accounting schedules and reconciliations

• Own the corporate close calendar and oversee all aspects of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close and reporting process

• Assist with the implementation of the ERP and other reporting tools

• Oversee the processing of payroll

• Work with the Senior Cost Accountant and Operations on tracking, auditing, and reporting matters of inventory at cultivation / manufacturing facilities and dispensaries

• Work closely with Operating Units and finance/accounting teams to develop, educate, implement, and ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies and procedures

• Coordinate the preparation of the annual audit, any yearly compliance audits, and help manage the relationship with external auditors

• Assist with 1099 preparation and various tax and audit requirements annually

• Perform and document technical accounting research

• Other duties as assigned

Required Experience, Education, and Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance is required, CPA strongly preferred

• Requires 5+ years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment

• 1 to 2 years of public/private experience preferred

• Must be familiar with cost accounting principles

• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and MS Office required

• Experience with financial accounting systems is a plus (Microsoft Dynamics)

• Light travel required including occasional overnight stays

• Strong interpersonal skills and consistent follow through on assigned tasks

• An entrepreneurial spirit that will enjoy working for start-up in a fast-paced environment

• Capacity to work beyond your comfort level and desire to learn new skills

• Ability to work independently in a highly organized manner

The Financial Controller will be responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of the accounting and reporting function to support the growth plans of Tantalus Labs. They will assist the CFO in providing efficient and prudent oversight on company capital resources, budgeting, reporting, projections, financial strategy, and capital structure. They will also be accountable for assisting the development of the Finance Department, including talent development and investor relations. The duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:</b></p><p>• Administer company accounting practices and policies</p><p>• Ensure quality control over financial transactions and accurate and timely production of monthly financial reporting with analysis of results</p><p>• Accurate and timely completion of month end, quarter end and year end close processes</p><p>• Manage the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day accounting, invoicing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash management, inventory integrity, fixed assets, payroll, financial reporting</p><p>• Prepare month-end and annual financial statements and supplemental reporting (MD&amp;A) with the CFO for senior management, Board of Directors, and shareholders</p><p>• Assist in the budgeting process. This hands on position will be responsible for assisting with daily operations in cultivation including processes and procedures within the propagation, vegetation and flowering phases. The Assistant Cultivation/Post Harvest Managerr will lead and manage employees ensuring that production needs are met, help ensure the Company is in full compliance with all state and local regulations, and that any procedural problems are addressed and resolved.
