Position Overview

The Financial Analyst role is responsible for analyzing the company’s financial performance to deduce trends and drive strategic decision making. This includes EBITDA reporting, data and analysis, forecasting, budgeting, financial modelling, and capital structuring.

Key Responsibilities

• Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and maintain detailed financial models to provide cadenced, accurate and driver-based and trend-based top-down forecasting. This entails integrating demand-supply balancing, patient churn modelling and a strong understanding of pro forma financial statements. (Income Statement / Balance Sheet/ Cash Flow).

• Financial Reporting: Create monthly and quarterly reporting tools and dashboards to inform stakeholders of financial performance, KPIs and headcount metrics.

• Ad hoc analysis: Conduct what-if and scenario analysis on strategic and tactical decisions contemplated by senior management. (i.e product launches, pricing decisions, expansion and diligence related to M&A or capital structuring).

• P&L Management: Review key financial line items to identify cost minimization and sales optimization opportunities.

• Business Process Improvement: Spearhead internal process improvements and execute on automation opportunities that can scale with the growing business.

• ERP Implementation: Represent the FP&A team during an ERP evaluation and implementation. Following implementation, the role will require report building and administration associated with the ERP.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Communicates proactively with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, IT, Quality, Regulatory, Product Development to facilitate product commercialization of both new and existing products.

• Cannabis Regulations and Compliance: Become familiar on Cannabis Regulations in Canada and how products are produced, distributed and sold in Canada, additionally ensure a clear understanding of the regulatory environment and framework and work closely with the Quality Assurance and Regulatory departments to ensure full compliance.

Qualifications and Skills

Academic/Educational Requirements

• Bachelor in business administration, finance, accounting, commerce or relevant field

• CPA or CFA is an asset.

Required Skills/Experience/Knowledge

• 2+ years of experience working as a financial analyst

• Cannabis-related work experience is an asset

• Experience with customer churn and demand-supply balancing is an asset

• Ambitious self starter searching for a role with significant task significance and autonomy

• Ideal candidate is familiar/experienced with the Cannabis culture in Canada

• Strong verbal and written communication skills;
