Position: Regional Brand + Field Representative Reports to: Director of Marketing + Director of Sales Location: Chicago

Summary: Sweet Reason Beverage Co. is looking for a Regional Brand + Field Representative to support our Chicago and surrounding metro area business. This person will work alongside the local distributor partners, driving distribution for Sweet Reason within accounts in a pre-assigned territory, and promote the brand through demos, events and sampling opportunities. This is a travel-focused sales role requiring travel 80% of the time to local account locations in the metro area. The Regional Brand + Field Representative will focus on opening new accounts and manage existing accounts, working closely with distributor partners to ensure they are doing the same to meet company objectives. This person will be the first or one of the first Sweet Reason employees in Chicago and must be comfortable working independently.

Responsibilities:
1. Sell into new retail accounts and strategic accounts (e.g. grocers, restaurants, cafes, on premise)
2. Manage merchandising
a. Manage associated brand assets (e.g. POS materials)
b. Monitor in-store execution and brand positioning to agreed upon standards
3. Work closely with local distributor to achieve sales goals and problem-solve issues
4. Understand negotiating tactics by leveraging price points and variations within channels
5. Analyze sales data (purchasing patterns, turns, number of accounts, SKU performance,
etc.) and report back to team within agreed upon timeline
6. Solicit feedback from customers and consumers and communicate with rest of team
7. Track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and territory progress
8. Maintain open communication with team, including recapping and follow-ups
9. Execute responsibilities within allocated budget
10. Find + conduct sampling at demos / events, and/or manage outsourced demo team to
support brand awareness growth in market

Qualifications:

  • University education
  • 1-2 years CPG sales experience

o Ideally food and beverage or health / wellness experience (although not imperative)

  • Passion for the product and the company
  • Good analytical skills
  • Ability to stay organized and manage 100+ relationships
  • Hard-working and independently driven
  • Good EQ skills / ability to form strong relationships
  • Comfortable with the ambiguity of a start-up
  • Ability to drive and commute around Chicago and surrounding metro area
  • Access to vehicle preferred

What success looks like:

  • 30 Days:

o Strong grasp of company, brand and sales goals
o Aligned on sales plan and allocated budget
o Form relationship with distributor(s)
o Executing against sales goals (number of doors, merchandising, store visits,
demos, etc.) and field marketing goals (number of demos, events, guerilla) o Collecting feedback from consumers / customers
