Sanitation Technician

The Sanitation Technician is responsible for the cleaning and sanitation of all production/grow areas and equipment across multiple facilities. This position works closely with the Sanitation Supervisor and other Technicians to ensure all grow areas are sanitized according to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintaining compliance with all industry regulations. This position may also work directly with cannabis plants through the growth and harvest cycle; while maintaining accurate records, sanitation levels and communicating information effectively to the rest of the Teams.

Key Accountabilities

· Participate in the daily, weekly and monthly cleaning and sanitation of production areas and equipment by strictly following established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

· Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Cannabis Regulations, by following SOP’s for all activities, at all times (production, trimming, extraction, packaging and sanitation).

· Complete daily, weekly and monthly cleaning and sanitation paperwork.

· Perform daily verification of cleaning chemical concentrations.

· Monitor cleaning chemical and cleaning supply inventories.

· Responsible for any assigned duties in production area including watering, pruning, feeding, harvesting, trimming, tear down, clean up and complete sanitation.

· Assure all cannabis products are free from contamination risk at all processing stages.

· Document and record data as per regulations; accurately keep track of inventory and all data entry.

· Wear proper PPE and handle chemicals as per product SDS and WHMIS.

· Monitor Production PPE supply levels and request an order as needed.

· Other assigned duties as operationally required.

Working Conditions

· Work environment can be warm and humid, similar to a greenhouse environment.

· Lifting up to 50 lbs repetitively, on regular basis.

· Standing and walking for long periods of time. Frequent bending, kneeling and reaching.

· Performing a series of repetitive tasks requiring excellent hand-eye coordination.

Experience and Education

· High School Completion (or Equivalent) and previous experience in a sanitation role, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.

· Keen attention to detail and ability to follow instructions and perform repetitive tasks

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills (fluent in English)

· Proven ability to work in a team environment and individually when required.
