Job Description

OVERVIEW

The Extraction Technician will be responsible for assisting in product processing and formulation. The Extraction Technician completes tasks assigned by the Extraction Manager to monitor and maintain the organization, cleanliness and efficiency of production areas as well as to maintain quality control measures. This position is responsible for assisting with lab production, which includes but is not limited to distillation, extraction, winterization, production of cannabis infused products, compliance requirements, and workplace safety. The Extraction Technician is responsible for utilizing a “Track and Trace” os, that will help to keep Nutritional High compliant with all state and local agencies as well as authorities.

  • Familiarity with basic scientific principles and laboratory experience. Must be able to follow written directions and maintain a laboratory notebook.
  • Must follow all applicable policies, procedures and guidelines. This includes the safe and proper operation of any/all applicable machinery, instrumentation, and equipment.
  • Operate laboratory instruments, make observations, calculate and record results.
  • Understand and meet daily goals.
  • Work as part of a team to meet production schedules.
  • Employee may also be responsible for monitoring production lines and collecting samples for analysis.
  • Follow SOP and standard analytical procedures to meet Good Laboratory Practices and Good Manufacturing Practices compliance.
  • Records data in lab notebooks, computer databases, and test reports.

Required Skills

  • Good communication skills, verbal and written, with co-workers and management.
  • Practice good housekeeping habits throughout the facility with focus and personal contributions towards a clean and organized assigned work area at the end of the assigned shift.
  • Capable of working with hazardous chemicals and is able to identify and report unsafe equipment, conditions and practices so that they may be corrected prior to an incident.
  • Flexibility and the ability to shift work schedule according to production needs.
  • Must pass any and all required background checks.
  • Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry.
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age..
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to perform grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
  • Physical demands – May be required to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift, carry and balance up to 50 pounds (200 pounds with assistance).

Desired Skills

  • Associate or 4-year degree preferred, with relevant college courses in biology, chemistry, or physics.
  • Prior Laboratory experience.
  • Prior Cannabis Lab / Manufacturing experience.

Responsibilities: -Oversee cannabis crops and facilities -Develop cultivation plans and assign duties -Organize and document the daily process of transplanting, cloning, defoliation and trimming of plants -Ensure that growth requirements of cannabis plants are consistently met (lighting, soil PH, nutrients etc.) -Lead maintenance operations (including disposing waste and preventing contamination) -Ensuring facilities are clean and pest-free -Resolve plant health issues like mold, mildew or other infestations -Managing all aspects of cultivation -Ensure legal compliance of cultivation procedures -Manage inventory and budgets related to marijuana farming (including equipment, security and HVAC systems) -Supervise and coach employees who tend to the plants (e.g. cannabis trimmers) -Inspect quality of harvest Requirements: -Proven experience as a grower, preferably at a large scale -Knowledge of the entire cannabis growth cycle and requirements -Familiarity with environment protection practices and the marijuana legal framework in our area -Understanding of pest and disease management techniques -Willingness to continue learning about horticulture and cannabis farming, and stay on top of current and future trends -Leadership and people management skills -Ability to meet the physical demands of the job *Degree in Botany, Biology, Agriculture, Horticulture or relevant field is a plus</p></div>","company":{"companyType":"Private/Growth","name":"THC123","logoUrl":"/logos/thc123-dc3406cb0c91f171f94bdff2f605bb70.jpeg"},"location":{"country":"United States","address":"Garden City, NY, USA (+1 other)","city":"Garden City","stateProvince":"NY"},"frontendLink":"/job-posting/thc123/lead-grower-cannabis-cultivation-facility-job-id-090320004/aeb252d9f030257f42d5ca3b8df70244","title":"Lead Grower - Cannabis Cultivation Facility - JOB ID 090320004","hash":"aeb252d9f030257f42d5ca3b8df70244","postingUrl":"https://b-jobz.com/us/web/jobposting/7d663e5c7367"}]
