The Extraction Technician will work within the Science technology department .The Extraction Technician will perform tasks such as prepping material for extraction, preventative maintenance, machine operation, documenting and cleaning.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities :
a) Perform extraction and related processes using CO2 Extraction equipment.
b) Complete the sanitation of all production equipment and tools including workspace, all equipment, containers, and appliances.
c) Record and document production, maintenance and sanitation.
d) Responsible for ensuring product is properly labeled ensuring compliance.
e) Responsible for the preparation of material to be processed in accordance with daily task.
f) Assist with testing and researching new extraction and isolation technologies or processes.
g) Ensures 100% compliance involving proper weighing, data recording, product tracking and security throughout all processes.
a) Follow the Cannabis Act, Cannabis Regulations and any new revisions.
b) Work in compliance of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
c) Comply with Quality Assurance standard operating procedures, policies and guidelines.
d) Other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience :
a) Experience as an extraction technician in either Cannabis or Chemical field.
b) Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Chemistry or other relevant field preferred.
Required Skills & Knowledge :
a) Demonstrated proficiency to communicate (both verbally and written) in the English language.
b) Hands on experience with extraction, high pressure, low temperature equipment.
c) Mechanically inclined.
d) Scientific methods and measurements.
e) Demonstrated attention to detail in a fast paced, high stress environment.
f) Health and Safety procedures and compliance.
g) Proper and safe handling and disposal of harmful chemicals, substances and wastes.
h) Must be completely proficient in Microsoft Office.
Preferred Skills & Knowledge :
a) Experience in extraction.
b) Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Chemistry or another relevant field.
c) One plus year in relevant field.

a) The successful candidate must be able to pass a police background check and RCMP criminal background check
