JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Controller, the successful Cost Accountant has the excellent analytical skills necessary to manage vast amounts of numerical data to calculate profit margins and recommend ways for an organization to minimize their costs. They also need a keen eye for details to update information regularly into accounting software programs and spot inaccuracies.
To excel, the Cost Accountant should be proficient in computer skills, creating databases, and be able to help an organization to establish a stable budget within their specifications.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collect and organize cost information into a database of expenses
  • Construct systems to accumulate and monitor data
  • Determine and calculate formulas for fixed and variable costs, such as rent, insurance, and monthly purchases
  • Plan budgets and prepare reports for multiple departments within a company
  • Review receipts and compare with actual charges to detect inaccuracies
  • Project profit margins for upcoming quarters and analyze trends of highs and lows
  • Prepare cost forecasts for monthly, quarterly, or annual operating schedules
  • Analyze month-end and year-end reports to identify and recommend cost-effective Improvements

QUALIFICATIONS FOR COST ACCOUNTANT*

  • Demonstrated understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • 5+ years of work experience as a cost accountant, analyst, or other relevant role
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and best practices
  • Familiarity with accounting software programs, such as FreshBooks and QuickBooks
  • Computer literacy skills, especially with MS Excel and basic data entry and computation
  • Analytical skills with a keen sense of organization and detail
  • Proven time management skills and ability to work under strict deadlines
  • Respect for confidentiality of information laws and local ethics
  • Expertise in activity-based costing for fixed and variable costs in relation to the overall direct cost of a line of products

Responsibilities will include:</b></p><p>· Implementation of sales and excise tax collection efforts and accounting for these collected taxes;</p><p>· Preparing and managing the filing of any necessary sales &amp; use tax returns, excise and tobacco-related returns, PACT Act filings, re-employment returns, income &amp; franchise tax returns, and other returns;</p><p>· Account preparation and reconciliation;</p><p>· Managing accounts receivable and accounts payable;</p><p>· Assisting with the quarterly close process and preparation of the financial statements;</p><p>· Assisting the Director of Finance of Lifted Made and the CFO of LFTD Partners Inc. with consolidation accounting and certain sections of reports on Form 10-Q, Form 10-K, and other SEC filings;</p><p>· Assisting with quarterly inventory counts;</p><p>· Preparation for and assistance with external audits, including compiling audit support requests;</p><p>· Helping design and evaluate financial processes, designing and implementing controls to mitigate risks, evaluating the design and operating effectiveness of controls, and reporting observations, findings, and recommendations.</p><p>The Senior Accountant will report to the Director of Finance and CEO of Lifted Made, and will also be reporting directly to the CFO of LFTD Partners Inc.</p><p><b>Required Qualifications:</b></p><p>· Actively-licensed CPA;</p><p>· College degree in accounting;</p><p>· Proficiency in Excel; and</p><p>· Knowledge of, and experience in, tax accounting, particularly in preparing sales &amp; use tax returns.</p><p><b>Qualifications That Would be a “Plus”:</b></p><p>· Experience in tax accounting for retail consumer goods companies.
