Position Summary:

The Quality Engineering Manager provides quality compliance support for the following quality tasks and duties: introduce and launch new or improved quality systems processes into the manufacturing site, including but not limited to: validation and qualification activities, consumer complaints, and change control. Participate in problem solving teams. Write & coordinate efforts for the development and implementation of new and updated quality system procedures for GMP, ISO and other quality standards such as validation protocols, manufacturing procedures, design & development documentation, SOPs, development and task force projects. Facilitate the development, implementation and monitoring of quality programs and policies that ensure that the development, manufacture and distribution of products is in compliance with corporate policies, U.S. Food and Drug Administration regulations, ISO and other applicable regulatory agencies.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Quality Engineering Manager will be responsible for:

  • Manage a team of 3-5 direct reports.
  • Direct the Validation and Qualification activities for all equipment, utilities, cleaning, and processes performed in the manufacturing facility.
  • Lead the Master Change Control process and maintain procedures and processes, work instructions, training guides, forms and Manufacturing related documents as they apply to the Change Management process.
  • Participate in on‐going identification of quality indicators/metrics and development of improved data collection methods.
  • Lead continuous quality system improvement efforts, including developing project plans and maintaining project schedules.
  • Oversee the Customer Complaints process and ensure investigations of adverse reactions are completed and reported to the appropriate agencies.
  • Assign tasks and projects to staff and monitor until completion. This individual will supervise the implementation and administration of processes, procedures, audits and corrective actions.
  • Ensure quality databases and files are regularly maintained.
  • Serve as key participant in third party inspections, internal and/or external audits.
  • This individual will also mentor, coach, train and develop own staff.
  • Evaluate performance and provide opportunities for growth.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
  • Know and follow all laws and policies that apply to one's job, and maintain the highest levels of professionalism, ethics and compliance at all times.
  • Diligently participate in our compliance program-related activities as denoted by manager.
  • Experience with authoring and maintaining procedures and work instructions is required.
  • Facilitates the development and launching of new or improved processes from a Quality and manufacturing perspective.
  • Develops statistically based sampling plans for in-process and final testing and inspections, and validations.
  • Works with project teams to develop DOEs and statistically sound tests for appropriate support of results.
  • Develops, reviews and approves validations and completion reports for new and existing products, processes and equipment. Provides statistical analysis of the data to support the reports.
  • Ensures that all projects are in compliance with applicable requirements.
  • Formulates detailed product quality plans based on results of risk analysis.
  • Participates in FDA inspections, ISO Certification and surveillance and customer audits.
  • Identifies and implements opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Interacts and coordinates activities with other departments, external vendors and customers.
  • Performs other Quality Systems related duties as required.


Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Biomedical, Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical) or Science (Biology).
  • 5-10 years’ experience in a Quality Assurance role for medical device, food, dietary supplement or pharmaceutical manufacturing.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of statistical sampling and analysis.
  • Demonstrates excellent organizational and communication skills and proficiency with the MS Office Suite, and statistical software.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Able to participate risk analysis including FMEA’s.
  • Able to prioritize projects and manage Quality Engineering resources to meet organizational goals and objectives.

Preferred:

  • Lean and/or Six Sigma certification and experience
  • ASQ Quality Engineering certification or equivalent
  • Manufacturing Equipment Qualification and Process Validation experience

Compensation:

$100,300.00-$167,400.00
