Job Description

The Post Harvest Technician provides manual labor which supports the post-cultivation activities and operations of our cultivation department. This position will be responsible for preparing and processing harvests for flower sales and oil extraction. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, positive individual who can think of no better way to spend the work day than potting big leafing, and harvesting cannabis plants with expert care and precision.

• Participating in cannabis harvest process including offload, harvesting, sanitizing and reloading flower rooms, milling and destruction of cannabis waste

• Harvesting and drying wet cannabis plants

• Accurately weigh and record post-harvest materials and manage cultivation waste

• Cleans and sanitizes dry rooms

• Document any and all activity in Illinois traceability program

• Maintain open communication with management team and co-workers

• Maintain a neat and organized work area allowing for the proper segregation of materials and processes

• Follow all SOPs, verbal directives, training information and policies when performing duties

Required Skills

• Previous experience in a hands-on environment with high attention to detail preferred

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• Highly motivated, self-directed, innovative and able to work independently or among teams with keen judgement, common sense and resourcefulness

• Attention to detail and ability to focus on one task for extended periods of time

• Adapts and thrives in a demanding, start-up, fast-paced environment

• Ability to work independently throughout a workday with given directives

• Must pass any and all required pre-employment screenings

• Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry

• Must be a minimum of 21 years of age

• Must be approved by the D.O.A. to receive an Agent badge

Desired Skills

• Previous experience in a cultivation or post harvest role in a regulated cannabis facility

• Degree in horticulture or botany

This includes general organization, safety, cleanliness, and the inventory of materials necessary for track and trace operations of Seed Breeding and Cultivation when related to tagging plants, plant tissue, seed stocks and harvested cannabis.</p><p>The Track and Trace Tech will work with the Cultivation, Breeding, and Nursery departments regarding overall planting, tagging and harvesting logistics in all aspects of Track and Trace. Candidates will be responsible for ensuring that the correct seedlings and clones are planted in their correct specified locations in the field according to CCA planting maps and accounted for within the state track and trace system. Additional responsibilities will include posting and maintaining current and updated cultivation licenses in accordance with State and County approved premises maps, laws, and regulations.</p><p>Working environment will include office, warehouse, and greenhouse/hoop house environments. Reporting to the Facility Manager for the facility to which he/she is assigned, the Building Engineer will work to oversee access, security, maintenance and services of the cultivation and processing facility to ensure optimum facility operation on a daily basis that provides for the work needs of the organization and its employees. In coordination with the Director of Facilities Engineering and the Facility Manager for their assigned facility, the Building Engineer plans, implements, coordinates and manages all mechanical operations, maintenance, communications, energy management, and manpower development programs within their assigned production facility.</p><p>• Manages the building's operational accounts and assists in development of operating and capital budgets both for their assigned facility as well as shared or company-wide systems, equipment or programs.</p><p>• Assists in operations and maintenance issues, troubleshooting and problem solving as required.</p><p>• Recommends and implements improvements for preventive maintenance programs on an on-going basis, maintains updated/current manuals from systems manufacturers. Develops/maintains effective building-specific maintenance and safety procedure manuals.</p><p>• Coordinates maintenance efforts with outside contractors, tenant finish personnel and technicians. Oversees all building systems including fire/life safety, plumbing, HVAC and electrical issues and must remain current with latest HVAC technology trends.</p><p>• Maintains on-going communication with facility management team and vendors; participates in facility management team meetings as required by the Facility Manager</p><p>• May assist in solicitation and acquisition of new management contracts, especially as they relate to their assigned facility. Coordinates development and maintenance of as-built drawings.</p><p>• Responds to all emergency situations quickly (fire, evacuation, equipment failure etc. and facility team concerns.</p><p>• Implements and administers inventory control programs/purchase parts and supplies.</p><p>• Develops specifications and assists in solicitation and administration of maintenance/repair service contracts.</p><p>• Establishes and monitors programs to ensure compliance with applicable codes, requisitions, government agency and company directives as they relate to building operations.</p><p>• Performs other duties as assigned.</p><p>• Physical Requirements of the Job: LIGHT OFFICE LIFTING. Must be able to lift, carry and balance up to 75 pounds (up to about 120 pounds with assistance), may include walking or standing for extended periods of time, as well as stooping, bending over and/or crouching. Long periods of prolonged use of office equipment including computers and phones.</p><p><b>About You:</b></p><p><b>General:</b></p><p>• Regulations require that incumbent be at least 21 years of age and able to obtain and maintain state marijuana work credentials.</p><p><b>Education/Experience:</b></p><p>• Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Engineering or related discipline from four-year college or university and a minimum of four years' experience and/or training. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
