DIRECTOR OF SUPPLY CHAIN INTEGRATION

PAX Labs is searching for an experienced Director of Supply Chain Integrations with at least 7 years of relevant experience (more preferred). This is a critical role in PAX Labs for growth and continued market success, this person will own all aspects of global supply chain spanning multiple contract manufacturers and suppliers. Candidates should be familiar with best practices for managing vendor relationships with a variety of Asian and American suppliers for a high-volume electronics product. This position will evolve over time as production ramps and the team grows. We need someone who will be comfortable with a hands-on approach and who can tackle a breadth of responsibilities. The processes will be evolving as well and so the person will need to lead efforts to put the right systems and processes in place for materials management.
You must be passionate about solving complex supply chain planning and execution challenges, from planning, sourcing, buying, and logistics to relationship management. Internally, you will work closely with our VP of Operations, engineering team, and our demand planning function in a highly collaborative environment. You will be empowered to uncover potential problems, and to propose and implement solutions. Furthermore, you will be encouraged to suggest and implement new best practices across disciplines within PAX Labs and with our various vendors.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Works with key suppliers to manage raw material market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability risk. Manages an ever changing plan to mitigate risk.
  • Responsible for managing suppliers and sources to ensure effective cost and service performance.
  • Acts as liaison between functional areas to drive decision making processes that supports an efficient, well-coordinated supply chain, ultimately supporting the business objectives.
  • Supports, participates and/or drives initiatives and activities to support supplier management process improvement. This will include a big leadership role in choosing and implementing our ERP system in 2022.
  • Develops collaborative/partnering relationships with key suppliers, including objectives and measures, to promote processes that will reduce lead times, costs and will manage working capital. Processes include: vendor managed inventory, consignment, electronic data transfer and online interaction for orders and shipment acknowledgement.
  • Manages the Sales & Operations Process (S&OP) to determine the build plan for the company based on forecasts and financial goals.
  • Works with controller as necessary to manage working capital.
  • Prepares departmental budget, manages process development and headcount plan as the department grows.
  • Determines the process and content for purchase orders insuring the inclusion of required specifications, prices, terms and conditions, and other relevant purchasing information.
  • Works closely with the Sales Group to understand the business strategies for product lines and strategically aligns our procurement practices and supply chain in support of the business strategy.
  • Informs Production, Sales, and Engineering departments of required lead times, availability, and status of ordered components and consumables.

WHAT WE LOOK FOR IN YOU:

  • 10+ years experience in Supply Chain Operations managing complex products (medical devices or consumer electronics preferred) to lead, oversee and manage a complex global supply chain in a regulated environment.
  • Experience and exceptional negotiation skills in managing overseas contract manufacturers, 3PL's and other externally facing partners
  • Experience collaborating closely with engineering, sales and operations teams.
  • Strong cross-cultural communication and negotiation skills for working closely with Chinese and Taiwanese vendors.
  • Demonstrated success building positive relationships with domestic and international vendors to find efficiencies.
  • Experience scaling operations, including an understanding of operating in a small, growing company.
