Purpose

Cookies Retail is a preferred global retail partner of Cookies that will be opening and operating store across the US and beyond.

The Director of Loss Prevention is responsible for the strategic planning and execution of the company's Loss Prevention program across all stores nationwide. This person will work closely with cross functional leadership teams throughout the organization, such as Retail & Store Operations, Finance, Legal, Compliance, Supply Chain, Human Resources, to ensure company assets including people, cash, and inventory, and are safeguarded.

This position has overall leadership responsibility to ensure the safeguarding of company assets from losses due to internal/external theft or fraud.

This position will develop and implement strategies to reduce shrink, and prevent fraudulent activity in retail stores and ecommerce, increasing overall profitability.

Core Responsibilities

· Develop and execute a strategy to reduce shrink in retail stores and ecommerce while supporting hospitality and customer experience.

· Work closely and partner with Cookies Enterprises Director of Security to ensure Security Guard coverage is adequate per store and post orders are followed at all times.

· Effectively lead loss prevention efforts at the executive level, in collaboration with all key cross functional executive partners.

· Create and implement Loss Prevention policies and procedures, in partnership with Store Operations executives.

· Reshape the retail culture to provide a "prevention" versus "apprehension" mindset-setting a new tone for Loss Prevention

· Partner with Store Operations to effectively drive operational excellence in all levels of the field organization

· Effectively oversee and develop an LP team, in the field and HQ, identifying potential leadership talent and actively play a role in their growth.

· Ensure that all operational metrics and financial objectives are exceeded.

· Support an internal investigations program that best utilizes tools such as Aspect exception reporting, video , EAS, covert equipment, case management tools, as well as professional interview and interrogation techniques.

· Conducts assessments of Loss Prevention or operational performance that impacts shrink and actively works with store management in the development and implementation of action plans to improve performance

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Passion for and knowledgeable about Cannabis security

  • Bachelor degree or CPP certification preferred
  • Wicklander & Zulawski or other interview techniques certification preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of Loss Prevention, team leadership and retail operations experience required.
