We are looking for a highly motivated and creative Marketing Director who is interested in joining a fast-paced environment in a growing, yet established and stable cannabis company with an exciting start-up culture. The ideal candidate will assist the Chief Executive Officer across multiple digital platforms for multiple brands and will be based out of our Birmingham, MI headquarters.

The Marketing Director will be responsible for leading the design and advertising message for the company and product brands, reporting to the Chief Executive Officer. You will also create content, along with our marketing team, for product and packaging communications, multimedia platforms, including video content, social media, web based digital content, and ad hoc content for our retail sales team.

As a leading member of the marketing team, you will lead the development of creative content for product and company advertising campaigns, sales, and technical communications, which includes both digital and printed product literature. Coordinate photography for product and company initiatives. Coordinate brand communications across, the company website, and social media platforms. Support and interact with sales and marketing by reviewing trade publications, and competitive advertising communications via varying media. Accomplishes team goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute an effective marketing strategy, branding initiatives, new product introductions, and other marketing projects.
  • Responsible for all aspects of Brand Management – engage customers / consumers and build brand equity across Social, Digital, Website development, grassroots events locally and all relevant platforms to allow maximum reach.
  • Develop a comprehensive market intelligence plan to capture competitive product information, collect customer feedback, and analyze market trends to identify and evaluate potential and existing customers, competitors, as well as markets for our existing and potential products.
  • Own creative development for packaging and digital content.
  • Support innovation by creating successful launch campaigns for new products.
  • Participate in pricing strategies to meet market and profitability goals.
  • Work with the sales team to ensure branding messages are clear and aligned.

Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required (or comparable experience) preferred.
  • 3+ years Director of Marketing experience preferred.
  • Professional demeanor and excellent communication and written skills.
  • Proficient in Google Suites and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Experience with Cannabis marketing is highly preferred.
  • Strong brand building foundation is a must.
  • Ability to target Cool/Hip/Vibe age group effectively.
  • Experience developing packaging for products.
  • Demonstrable experience designing and implementing successful marketing campaigns.
