Macro Plastics, a division of IPL, is currently recruiting for a high-performing Director of Sales - Agriculture to join our dynamic team.

Macro Plastics is the world’s largest manufacturer of bulk plastic containers. With sales and manufacturing facilities located worldwide, IPL Macro provides innovative business solutions for the agricultural, food processing, retail, and industrial markets.

Job Purpose

To develop and lead a team of sales professionals ultimately driving year over year profitable growth to the organization through a multi-year strategic sales plan within the pre-defined “Agriculture Industry”. He/she will be responsible for creating a culture of collaboration, professionalism and accountability. This role will be responsible for managing the direct efforts of sales and new product development, while supporting operational excellence across the division. Through direct communication with the Managing Director, the Ag strategy should align with the vision and mission set forth by the IPL Macro Executive Leadership Team (“ELT”).

Key Areas of Responsibility & Duties

Strategic Planning:

  • Develop and manage a 3-year strategic sales plan.
  • Represent and own Agriculture forecast call. Call should cover all open opportunities with likelihood of close/won.
  • Collaborate with Ag NPD Manager to prioritize and present NPD projects to Managing Director. Develop appropriate RFE to justify investment and focus.
  • Support initiative of SKU rationalization within industries serviced.
  • Execute on rent to own strategy while ensuring the program is used to maximize top and bottom-line growth.
  • Ensure Domestic and ROW (rest of world) sales team are effectively positioning and selling our commercialized offerings to existing and new customers, regions and industries that would be considered Ag. Ex. Hemp/Cannabis and Food Processing

Budgeting and Accounts Receivable:

  • Own the roll-up function of the Ag sales budget.
  • Develop, implement and manage the sales expense budget for the Ag group.
  • Review and support AR in managing “receivables” and payment terms.
  • Ensure all corporate T&E processes and procedures are followed.
  • Collaborate with Marketing Manager to ensure proper use of allocated marketing and trade show dollars.

Human Capital:

  • Create a culture within the team that aligns with the IPL vision of being an “employer of choice”.
  • Collaborate with VP of S&M and HR Director on creating a career development plan for employees.
  • Help drive sales training initiatives necessary to create a “best in class” salesforce.
  • Drive accountability across domestic sales team through key objective creation and bi-weekly reviews.
  • Training and focusing the sales team around understanding our value proposition and unique leverage they have within the industries serviced
  • Creating an environment forcing sales reps are outside of their comfort zone in which they have become accustom. Example: Move from “account management” to “professional sales”
  • Maintain self-improvement program through conferences, seminars, courses and readings to continue development in sales.

Industry Involvement and Knowledge:

  • Attend key industry tradeshows and build report with industry leaders.
  • Understand and be able to clearly communicate IPL Macro’s value proposition to the industries we serve.
  • Understand Industry trends to proactively position IPL Macro as a market leader in innovation.

Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with other BU Sales Managers to ensure maximizing utilization across plants, machines and molds.
  • Work with colleagues of other BUs to review best practices and create “mind-share”.
  • Work with Operations to understand capacity and costs associated to inventory. Manage customer expectations for inventory requirements and ensure IPL-Macro is compensated fairly for services provided.
  • Collaborate with Customer Service and Operations to provide a “best in class” environment for customers while supporting operations in their goals of maximizing efficiencies, quality and DLFOH cost control.

Safety & Sustainability Expectations:

  • Work within industries to challenge the status quo of virgin vs recycled resin content along with current specification requirements (light-weighting).
  • Ensure salesforce is following corporate safety procedures.

Qualifications & Skill Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or training/equivalent experience
  • 8 years or more of relevant experience in management and sales in the manufacturing sector.

  • Solid communicator with a demonstrated capacity for 360 degree communication: Clients, Colleagues, Group and Executive Leadership Team.
  • Ability to develop talent and high-performance team (competency based program).

complete production.</p><p><b>Responsibilities:</b></p><p>• Well researched in new techniques and insight and dedicated to expand knowledge</p><p>• Will work closely with other managers and directors in order to execute the company's overall cultivation strategy</p><p>• Develop a comprehensive hiring plan then participate with managers to hire, train, and supervise staff (includes scheduling, supervision, training, and annual performance reviews)</p><p>• Create and manage schedules, cultivation processes, inventory, and vendor relations</p><p>• Coordinate with ownership, wholesale, extraction, and cultivation management interests, with regard to production scheduling</p><p>• Create implement Standard Operating Procedures for cultivation, maintenance, and grounds</p><p>• Ensure that the cultivation center adheres to all state regulatory compliance standards and maintains proper documentation</p><p>• Understand compliance with all HR policies, including confidentiality and non-disclosure</p><p>• Establish systems and chain of command to collect, analyze, and maintain data on cultivation operations to aid strategic planning and operational decisions</p><p>• Serve as a role model and resource for staff with regards to products and services, policies and procedures, industry news, and changes in regulations</p><p>• Respond to questions, concerns, or suggestions and take action to resolve conflicts</p><p>• Maintain accurate records of all cultivation activities, including employee records, inventory records, and crop application records</p><p>• Upkeep working knowledge of traceability programs</p><p>• Consistently report cultivation status, verbally and in written form to all executive leadership/ownership</p><p>• Conduct weekly meetings to communicate status and directives</p><p>• Test/Sample/Trial equipment to ensure subject matter expertise for future facility and equipment purchases</p><p>• Create a complete facility compliance plan, with periodic internal audits, to ensure state and environmental safety regulations are met</p><p>• Frequent travel for facility inspections, media events, and other meetings as needed</p><p><b>CULTIVATION OPERATIONS AND MANAGEMENT</b></p><p>• Ensure optimal plant health while maximizing yields by maintaining proper pruning, plant training, and trimming processes and procedures</p><p>• Delegate tasks to cultivation agents in order to maintain an efficient, compliant, and clean cultivation facility</p><p>• Ensure all the tasks are performed in the operation, including cloning, transplanting, feeding plants, defoliation, trellising, topping, flushing, foliar and preventative sprays, trimming, waste disposal and inventory management</p><p>• Develop and execute preventative, naturally-integrated pest/disease control, maintenance and elimination of all types of mold, powdery mildew, spider mites, root aphids, fungus gnats, etc. with STRICT adherence to all state compliance and environmental safety regulation</p><p>• Maintain a clean and organized cultivation center with proper inventory of all cultivation supplies</p><p>• Oversee the creation and implementation of all cultivation operations, plans, policies, and procedures (SOP) regarding propagation, plant care, IPM, health and safety operations, harvest, and post-harvest</p><p>• Create and implement best practices for plant health and care -
