Duties

Summary

The Specialty Crops Program (SCP) is part of the Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS), U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), and is the organization responsible for helping the produce industry market their perishable products in an orderly an efficient manner. In this position, you will serve as an Agricultural Marketing Specialist within the hemp program, responsible for implementing and administering all aspects of the AMS hemp program regulations.


Responsibilities

  • The duties described are for the full-performance level. At developmental grade levels, assignments will be of more limited scope, performed with less independence and limited complexity.
  • The duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • Develops, reviews, and implements new and/or revised policies specific to the hemp program.
  • Identifies and conceptualizes strategies to improve and/or advance the organization's policy development practices.
  • Monitors and stays abreast of the implementation of approved hemp production policies.
  • Manages multiple, complex policy projects specific to hemp production.
  • Coordinates and supports the application process for hemp production licensing.
  • Enforces licensing, record keeping, sampling, testing, and production requirements compliance for hemp.
  • Conducts complex analysis of existing and proposed legislation impacting hemp production.

    Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; or LL.M., if related such as: Marketing, Agriculture, Horticulture, Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Business or related fields

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. The IPM Director will be a customer service focused individual who can create an implement a value added IPM Program for our partners. The investment in our people and infrastructure has allowed us to produce diverse, high quality cannabis products made with care and devotion.</p><p><b>RESPONSIBILITIES</b></p><p>Reporting directly to the CEO, the Security Director will be responsible for all security and safety needs necessary for the Cultivation and Dispensary facilities including:</p><ul><li>Establish and maintain an anti-diversion program - when applicable conduct investigations as necessary</li><li>Meet regularly and communicate with law enforcement officials and the fire services</li><li>Maintain and issue credentialing program for personnel and third party agents.</li><li>Manage roll call and shift change for daily guard service</li><li>Monitor and maintain security alarm and camera systems to ensure 24hour a day compliance - conduct monthly audits.</li><li>Establish and maintain a safety training program for entry level and management staff</li><li>Monitor all CCC regulations for compliance related to security</li><li>Annually update security plan and contact information for key personnel</li><li>Conduct annual security exercise and fire drill</li><li>Maintain compliance with all third party delivery of product and cash</li><li>Meet with community stakeholders including business groups, neighborhood associations, and government agents, as needed</li></ul><ul><li>Respond after hours and during normal hours to any incidents at the facilities and prepare incident reports</li><li>Maintain training personnel files on safety and compliance training.</li></ul><ul><li>Establish communication policies and procedures for cell phones and radios.</li></ul><ul><li>Maintain physical plant requirements for access control, perimeter control, monitoring, and lighting to ensure compliance at all times.</li></ul><ul><li>Arrange for repair, planned maintenance and unplanned maintenance of all security equipment throughout facility to ensure systems and equipment are always functioning as intended.</li></ul><ul><li>Conduct investigations and act as liaison to legal, human resources, other operating departments, insurance companies and consultants for any incidents that may result in loss.</li></ul><ul><li>Special projects and assignments as business dictate</li></ul><p><b>EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE</b></p><ul><li>College degree preferred ·</li><li>Law enforcement, military experience, or corporate security experience required ·</li><li>Incident management training and/or certification ·</li><li>Excellent communication skills ·</li><li>Strong observation skills ·</li><li>Thorough understanding of the security operations</li></ul><p><b>PHYSICAL DEMANDS </b> ·</p><ul><li>The employee frequently is required to talk or hear ·</li><li>The employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms. ·</li><li>The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. ·</li><li>Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</li></ul><p><b>WORK ENVIRONMENT</b> ·</p><ul><li>Generally located in cultivation security office during business hours</li><li>Will be required to visit retail location occasionally and at times on short notice</li></ul><p>Job Type: Full-time</p><p>Pay: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year</p><p>Benefits:</p><ul><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Health insurance</li></ul><p>COVID-19 considerations:<br />Hand sanitizing, face coverings, social distancing</p><p>Education:</p><ul><li>Bachelor's (Preferred)</li></ul><p>Experience:</p><ul><li>Leadership: 2 years (Required)</li><li>Security: 5 years (Required)</li></ul><p>Work Location:</p><ul><li>One location</li></ul><p>Work Remotely:</p><ul><li>No</li></ul></div>","company":{"companyType":"Startup","name":"Bountiful Farms"},"location":{"country":"United States","address":"Lakeville, MA 02347","city":"Lakeville","stateProvince":"MA"},"frontendLink":"/job-posting/bountiful-farms/security-director/db9928978fb1e85e29e794cddfb60fdd","title":"Security Director","hash":"db9928978fb1e85e29e794cddfb60fdd","postingUrl":"https://www.indeed.com/job/security-director-bd4ed08eecc4407f"}]
