Frost services a range of clients, from individuals to billion-dollar organizations. We have offices in Little Rock, AR; Fayetteville, AR; Scottsdale, AZ; Yuma, AZ; and Raleigh, NC. Our satellite offices are in Denver, CO; Naples, FL; and LaBelle, FL.

 

Frost has an immediate opening for a Tax Manager or Senior Associate within our Cannabis and Emerging Industries Group. This is a full-time position and will be benefits eligible.

 

About the position:

  • Opportunity to work in fast-growing and dynamic industries, with a current focus on the cannabis (marijuana, both medical and adult-use, hemp and hemp derivatives) and cannabis-technology industries
  • Opportunity to participate in complex investment, corporate structuring, and transactional business activities and address tax decisions and reporting impacts.
  • Opportunity to learn and consider strategic decisions that are impacted by a set of diverse and ever-changing regulations (both on federal and various state levels) and tax court rulings
  • Opportunity to work with cannabis dispensaries, cultivators, processors, and vertical operators consisting of individual and multi-state operators (MSOs)
  • Potential to advance with the rapidly-growing industry practice team
  • Potential for occasional travel if desired, but not necessary
  • Reports directly to Cannabis and Emerging Industries group partner

 

Our ideal candidate:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field required
  • CPA or CPA candidate required
  • 2-5 years in tax senior or manager position required
  • Self-starter and ability to manage multiple projects, staff, and clients
  • Detail-oriented, technical tax experience preferred, with interest in continued learning and skills advancement
  • Ability to utilize knowledge and skills to participate in corporate strategic and tax planning
  • Tax reporting experience with Partnerships, C-Corps., and S-Corps. and joint ventures
  • Experience with CCH Suite of Applications
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)

Your job is to make sure that the entire operation is running smoothly and efficiently. You will wear many hats in this position including; managing staff, managing production, inventory, material ordering, building and equipment maintenance, vendor relationships, and cannabis compliance. You will report directly to the ownership group on issues, needs, and data reporting on a weekly basis. You will also have managers reporting directly to you.</p><p><b>Job roles include but are not limited to:</b></p><p>· The Director of Operations will work directly underneath the CEO, COO, and CFO and will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing our manufacturing functions and overall operations on a daily basis.</p><p>· You will be organizing the entire production staff including their schedule, roles, efficiency, and skillsets along current management. We expect quarterly employee reviews as well as consistent feedback to the ownership group on staff members who are excelling and needing bonuses or those who are falling short and need an action plan. We need a leader who has a stern management style but is also well respected and liked among the team.</p><p>· You will hold the critical role of ordering all raw material and packaging for our products. This is an in-depth part of the operation in which you must foresee sales trends and make sure you order the perfect amount of material to keep our shelves stocked with no backorders, while not over-ordering. You will work closely with the Manager and ownership group weekly in the endeavor.</p><p>· Maintain close and well-respected relationships with all vendors we work with- cultivations, packaging, courier, maintenance, landlords etc. It is very important that we uphold our reputation with these individuals!</p><p>· Make sure there are no backorders, and that the team has a large variety of inventory to meet sales goals and keep our customers happy.</p><p>· Maintain building and it’s equipment and fix anything that arises in a timely but effective manner. We need someone who can think on their feet, is not easily distressed, and that can come up with solutions on their own (major issues being brought to ownership). A forward thinker who feels confident in addressing daily operating needs. Especially those in the cannabis space.</p><p>· Oversee and assist Manager and Assistant Manager with their duties, making sure things are being run as efficiently as possible and coming up with creative solutions when needed.</p><p>· Oversee and assist our Extractor with his needs and duties. Make sure we are hitting the yields and labor goals needed as well as collaborate on the best cultivations and strains for our product line based on data.</p><p>· Critical decision making and business thought processes that enable efficient, simplified ways of working our systems in order to meet critical deadlines and quotas.</p><p>· You will be responsible for identifying operational pinch points and creating an action plan to optimize the process through the creation and implication of new business protocols and effective staff management.</p><p>· You will collaborate with the existing management and executives to determine the best course of action to integrate processes through every aspect of the business.</p><p>· You will lead the development of standardized tools that enables us to execute with consistency and efficiency including streamlined performance reporting for all areas of operations (yields, labor, COGS etc). These reports will be diligently updated and made readily available for operational needs, references, and of course compliance audits.</p><p>· Some reports will be shared with the ownership group on a weekly basis, highlighting key components of the operation- both positive and negative. These reports will include but are not limited to; HR insights, product loss, current inventory, incoming product and future production outlook, extraction yields, cultivation issues, cost analysis on material and packaging etc.</p><p>· You will implement SOPs and have oversight of operational functions to make sure the MIP is in full compliance at all times.</p><p>· You will be in charge of all final quality control of the products- from production to labeling- everything must fit our company standard. Quality and consistency is key both inside and outside the packaging!</p><p>· Occasional travel to other markets for training new hires. The sky is the limit with this position!</p><p>· 5+ years of experience as Director of Operations or equivalent position.</p><p>· Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.</p><p>· Must be efficient in METRC and knowledgeable about Colorado cannabis compliance rules; especially in a manufacturing facility.</p><p>· Must be efficient in Quickbooks, Excel, and Google Docs.</p><p>· Self-sufficient and creative leadership approach.</p><p>· Analytical thinker with extreme attention to detail.</p><p>· Ability to recognize pinch points and implement actions that lead to company growth.</p><p>· Advanced organizational stability through change and risk management.</p><p>· Lead the development and implementation procedures that ensure critical deadlines are met on time and accurately.
