JOB DESCRIPTION: Director of Compliance

The Director of Compliance will be responsible for the Company’s compliance to all cannabis rules and regulations for multiple cannabis operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Coordinates with the COO and Director of Operations to implement all standard operating procedures (SOPs) in relation to state regulations and MRA compliance for the production facilities and provisioning centers.

• Coaches team members and provides guidance on project management.

• Remains abreast of relevant industry-related and state-mandated laws and regulations, analyze their impact and make recommendations to operations and management.

• Develop & maintain relationships with strategic staff & executives at the MRA and act as the primary point person for all interactions with MRA, including site inspections and product related inquiries or adjustments.

• Has oversight on compliance in a GMP manufacturing setting including, OSHA, EHS and Quality Control.

• Oversee METRC compliance for all facilities Identifies potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk; develops/implements corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues and provides general guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future. This includes providing guidance to management on implementing policy and/or process changes to comply with new and/or changes to regulations.

• Collaborates with others in operations to develop policies, procedures and communications encouraging employees to report violation of company policies and/or government regulations such as, potential selection of third-party vendor(s).

• Leads internal audits to ensure compliance and minimize risks over all company facilities and assists in the opening of new cannabis facilities.

• Define and distribute facility checklists to maintain compliance for licensed status.

• Conduct bi-annual audits of each facility and document gaps in either compliance or procedure.

• Monitor license status across all facilities and coordinate the renewal process.

• Collaborates with COO and Director of Operations to identify risks, ensure compliance to OSHA regulations and ensure loss prevention methods comply with privacy and other applicable laws. This includes working with the Compliance Team to conduct annual trainings on facility compliance and the statewide monitoring system.

• Review and submit all new or adjusted packaging and labeling for compliance with state guidelines.

• Participate with finance team in the physical inventory counts of regulated product and perform a reconciliation against the statewide monitoring system.

• Oversee the administration, maintenance, and accuracy of all required reports, documentation, and equipment.

• Oversees any recall and/or health/public safety issues. This includes reporting to government agencies, developing communication to dispensaries and/or consumers, working with the management team to develop a corrective plan.

• Respond to management inquires and requests and resolve issues in a timely, friendly and efficient manner.

• Coordinate the security and logistics protocols surrounding the logistics and successful delivery of product.

• Evaluates participation in community events and other marketing efforts for risks. Also ensures marketing activities comply with federal and/or state regulations.

• Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor.

• Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.

Basic Qualifications:

• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in compliance, regulatory affairs and/or risk management.

• Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred

• Experience in cannabis industry strongly preferred.

Additional Qualifications:

• Work history showing progressive responsibility, willingness to accept additional projects and challenges

• Excellent time-management skills; ability to effectively plan and prioritize

• Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

• Present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
