JOB SUMMARY:

You will be responsible for executing operating strategy and establishing clear goals and metrics for the operational teams in the Cultivation division by aligning with corporate financial and strategic goals to produce high-quality products with ever-increasing quality, efficiency, and profitability. You will oversee day-to-day functions of the cannabis cultivation operations, manage all cultivation associates, ensure all processes, SOPs, training requirements, schedules, policies, and procedures are followed, and ensure the cultivation operational goals are met including checking and verifying quality and compliance.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Managing the cannabis cultivation operations of the organization

· Developing and implementing SOPs for all aspects of the cultivation operations

· Maintaining financial, operational, production, and inventory records, as well as tracking, maintaining, analyzing, and reporting on KPIs and other relevant data associated with the cultivation operations

· Directing crop production operations, such as planning, cloning, planting, fertilizing, cultivating, spraying, or harvesting

· Touring work areas to observe work being done, to inspect crops, and to evaluate plant and soil conditions

· Monitoring activities, such as irrigation, chemical application, harvesting, cloning, to ensure adherence to safety regulations or standards

· Determining plant growing conditions, such as greenhouses, hydroponics, or natural settings, and set planting and care schedules

· Developing new techniques such as planting, harvesting, watering, and cloning in the use of safety measures

· Reviewing employees' work to evaluate quality and quantity

· Coordinating as needed with other functional areas within the organization, including but not limited to compliance, security, legal, finance, distribution, and sales.

· Performing other duties as assigned

Operational

· Review current systems for operational efficiency and stay abreast of growth and other technology and product developments in the cannabis industry and related industries.

· Develop methods to monitor and measure cultivation activity to identify areas of success and areas of opportunity to control production efficiency, manufacturing variances, material waste, and other indicators of profitability.

· Collaborate with colleagues to assure proper strain, inventory, and production management.

· Develop and implement procedures for optimal growing and harvesting conditions and implement mitigation strategies as needed.

· Ensure that the cultivation team is adhering to protocols and policies to ensure organizational targeted production requirements are met.

· Regularly review harvest schedules with cultivation managers to ensure proper strain inventory.

· Establish QA/QC policies and standards, including health and safety requirements, and monitor and ensure compliance.

· Drive consistency across all cultivation operations including materials, procedures, and staff & re-training; Refine procedures and protocols based on best crop management practices.

· Establish cultivation standards and monitor and ensure compliance and communication including:

  • Cultivation equipment specs and standards.
  • Nutrient and environment protocols.
  • Hygiene and safety policies and procedures.

· Identify industry best practices, modify cultivation policies and ensure uniform rollout.

· Encourage testing of cutting-edge cultivation methodologies and inputs in a controlled and measured manner.

· Submit weekly reports summarizing cultivation operations, including KPIs and other relevant data, to Senior Leadership.

· Ability to interact regularly with members of the cultivation team.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $165,000.00 - $185,000.00 per year

Reporting to the Chief People Officer, the Director of Compensation will handle design, communication, compliance, and administration of a national compensation program. This role provides strategic thought leadership, program support and consulting on all areas of compensation including pay (broad based, executive and sales), incentive compensation, equity and recognition programs.
