Cultivation Technician

Commercial Cannabis Cultivation Technician


Pay: $18 - $20 per hour


Schedule:

  • 25 – 35 hours per week
  • Occasional weekend shifts required


Work Location: One location


Be able to complete a variety of plant care independently including, but not limited to:


  • Assist with de-leafing, harvesting, cleaning, transporting plants, and basic handy work when needed
  • Monitor various aspects of plant health including signs of disease or infestation and communicate any issues to the cultivation management team
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work environment to mitigate potential pest problems and facilitate an organized and efficient workflow
  • Keep all equipment clean and sanitized
  • Identify and report irregularities and/or variances from Standard Operating Procedures to management
  • Regularly check and interact on Greenshift’s employee app to best communicate with the team about all information pertinent to specific areas of cultivation
  • Be willing to wear many hats – assist where help is needed
  • Coordinate plant schedules and tasks with management team
  • Wear provided uniform at all times unless directly instructed otherwise
  • Inspect all materials and equipment to detect malfunctions
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures
  • Carefully follow directions as provided by the Chief of Cultivation


Job Qualifications:


Commercial or Residential Cannabis Experience Prefered.


  • Must be 21+, with a valid State ID, and able to pass additional background screening.
  • High School Diploma or greater required
  • Experience working in fast-paced environments
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of botany, horticulture, and agriculture preferrred
  • Knowledge of production tools and equipment
  • Must be detail-oriented and have strong problem solving/communication skills
  • Strong leadership qualities
  • Maintain a culture of professionalism
  • Must be hard working, responsible, and trustworthy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
  • Able to work on your feet for 8+ hours

The position is currently remote but a hybrid option will be considered in the future as need arises.</p><p><b>Responsibilities:</b></p><p>Communication Strategy</p><p>• Measures the ongoing effectiveness of digital communications initiatives using analytical tools</p><p>• Advises on the adoption of new and emerging digital communications strategies</p><p>• Liaises with SNCC, SNGREC, and other service partners</p><p>Content Creation and Digital Asset Management</p><p>• Responsible for writing, photography, video production, and editing original content</p><p>• Creates digital assets and maintains an archive of all shared content</p><p>Social Media and Analytics</p><p>• Contributes to the development of social media strategies and policies and takes the lead in their implementation</p><p>• Identifies opportunities and leads the creation of engaging content for SNCC social media channels</p><p>• Stays current on evolving social media and mobile platforms to advise on strategic direction</p><p>Website Coordination</p><p>• Ensures readability, functionality, and accessibility of webpages</p><p>• Supports SNCC and staff with web content management</p><p>Publication Production</p><p>• Coordinates content, photography, design, printing for all information distribution required on Six Nations</p><p>Other</p><p>• Additional communication duties as determined by SNCC</p><p><b>Qualifications:</b></p><p>• Post Secondary degree or diploma preferred. Demonstrated experience in communication field required</p><p>• Background in marketing/communications preferred</p><p>• Experience with website design and photography would be an asset</p><p>• Copy editing for spelling and grammar required</p><p>• Experience working with Six Nations or other First Nations is preferred</p><p><b>Other Key Skills:</b></p><p>• Ability to respond to questions/comments from the public in a timely, professional, helpful and courteous manner regardless of customer attitude</p><p>• Ability to meet and communicate service standards and track client satisfaction</p><p>• Resolve conflict actively and constructively, engaging in difficult conversations to find collaborative solutions</p><p>• Excellent human relation skills including the ability to develop and maintain constructive relationships with individuals in academic posts</p><p>• Proven business-appropriate oral and written communications skills</p><p>• Use multiple channels or means to communicate important messages (e.g., memos, newsletters, meetings, electronic mail)</p><p>• Maintains confidentiality and demonstrates a sensitivity to diversity</p><p>• Coordinate with SNCC Administration to create a communication budget and adhere to budget</p><p>• Budget tracking</p><p><b>Technical Requirements:</b></p><p>• Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office, Google Suite and Wordpress</p><p>• Intermediate experience with web content management tools</p><p>• Intermediate experience with photo and video editing software</p><p>• Experience with social media networks</p><p>• Experience using Excel</p><p><b>MANDATORY DOCUMENTATION WITH APPLICATION:</b></p><p>1.
