You will collaborate cross-functionally and assist in all demand planning duties, including estimating future product demand, analyzing inventory flow, and developing forecast models.

This impactful role will be based in Portland, OR and will be directly responsible for the following:

  • Lead all demand planning duties including estimating future product demand, analyzing inventory flow, and developing forecast models for materials sourcing projections.
  • Drive the cross-channel demand planning activities, including statistical analysis, volume sales forecasting and daily analysis of the order portfolio and sales trend.
  • Develop volume sales forecasts at multiple levels of aggregation (by SKU and product category), for multiple time horizons and multiple channels.
  • Conduct margin analysis across the business as a whole, as well as at category and product level.
  • Partner with Marketing and Ecommerce teams to ensure discount/promotion profitability and advise on appropriate products and categories to drive growth.
  • Establish effective replenishment forecast models at optimized level based on the latest sales trends and demand patterns with a seasonality of products.
  • Propose and implement solutions to improve forecast accuracy, as well as SKU productivity and overall pricing optimization.
  • Monitor and report on important changes in sales forecasts, budgets, and business strategies to impacted individuals and teams.
  • Support management with risk assessments and mitigation activities.
  • Facilitate the information flow between Operations, Sales, Marketing, Finance and top Management, leading to effective knowledge sharing and an optimal consensus forecast to better guide the company.
  • Review historical sales trends; research demand drivers; prepare forecast data; apply error analysis techniques to improve forecasting.
  • Analyze variances of the sales forecasting vs. company goals to determine whether forecasts are consistent with product availability, production lead times and other supply chain constraints.

Requirements

  • 3-5+ years of experience in demand and inventory planning preferred
  • A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Economics or Statistics or equivalent combination of education and related experience preferred
  • Self-driven and highly motivated with a strong attention to accuracy and details
  • Strong mathematical and statistical knowledge
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and build positive relationships cross-functionally
  • Solid understanding of inventory management practices and procedures.
  • Capability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microstrategy and/or Power BI
  • Proficiency in statistics, forecasting methods and sales/inventory analysis; understanding of the financial impacts on the P&L of the company and operational impacts on the supply chain
