Cultivation Technician

Commercial Cannabis Cultivation Technician


Pay: $18 - $20 per hour


Schedule:

  • 25 – 35 hours per week
  • Occasional weekend shifts required


Work Location: One location


Be able to complete a variety of plant care independently including, but not limited to:


  • Assist with de-leafing, harvesting, cleaning, transporting plants, and basic handy work when needed
  • Monitor various aspects of plant health including signs of disease or infestation and communicate any issues to the cultivation management team
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work environment to mitigate potential pest problems and facilitate an organized and efficient workflow
  • Keep all equipment clean and sanitized
  • Identify and report irregularities and/or variances from Standard Operating Procedures to management
  • Regularly check and interact on Greenshift’s employee app to best communicate with the team about all information pertinent to specific areas of cultivation
  • Be willing to wear many hats – assist where help is needed
  • Coordinate plant schedules and tasks with management team
  • Wear provided uniform at all times unless directly instructed otherwise
  • Inspect all materials and equipment to detect malfunctions
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures
  • Carefully follow directions as provided by the Chief of Cultivation


Job Qualifications:


Commercial or Residential Cannabis Experience Prefered.


  • Must be 21+, with a valid State ID, and able to pass additional background screening.
  • High School Diploma or greater required
  • Experience working in fast-paced environments
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of botany, horticulture, and agriculture preferrred
  • Knowledge of production tools and equipment
  • Must be detail-oriented and have strong problem solving/communication skills
  • Strong leadership qualities
  • Maintain a culture of professionalism
  • Must be hard working, responsible, and trustworthy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
  • Able to work on your feet for 8+ hours

Northwest Territories, Yukon, and Nunavut are critical jurisdictions to examine the impact of cannabis legalization because the territories have the highest prevalence of per capita cannabis use in Canada. Despite the importance of the territories with respect to cannabis regulations, there are very little existing data to guide cannabis policy in the territories. Our team is conducting a longitudinal study in the 3 territories to fill this substantial data gap. Moreover, this research includes cannabis control policy specific variables that will enable assessments of individual national and territorial regulatory measures. Overall, the primary purpose of this research is to provide decision makers in the 3 Canadian territories with ongoing feedback in the early stages of cannabis legalization, and evidence on the longer-term public health effects.</p><p>This study includes a population-based online survey among a total of 1,500 participants (500 in each of the 3 territories) aged 16+. The survey will be conducted each year in 2021, 2022, and 2023. To date, we have completed the survey data collections in 2021 and 2022. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to conduct data analysis using survey data and to practice their analytic skills. As a member of the growing team, the Assistant Grower is a vital role to ensure that plant health is monitored and maintained according to Health Canada Regulations and Operational Requirements. Reporting to the Head Grower or designate, this role requires the applicant to be detail oriented and a self-starter that can work with a diverse team of professionals. The Assistant Grower position is part of a highly skilled, highly motivated group that requires an eye for quality in each step of the growing process.</p><p>This position is based out of Kingsville, Ontario.</p><p><b>Job Duties:</b></p><p>· Assist the grow team in all production and postproduction activities as needed.
