We are looking for a savvy Data Engineer to join our growing IT Team. In this role, you'll be responsible for creating new data models and reports while expanding and optimizing our data and data pipeline architecture. You'll be working to optimize data flow and collection for all CannaCraft business units and supporting CannaCraft's technology team on data & application initiatives and ensuring data delivery architecture is consistent throughout ongoing projects. Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture for Sage X3 and other business data sources.
  • Utilize Power BI and SQL Server for user distributed Reports.
  • Assemble large, complex data sets to meet business requirements.
  • Design & build business reports utilizing SQL databases, Excel, and various BI platforms (SEI, Power BI, SQL Server).
  • Identify & recommend new data tools/systems to assist with development & delivery of business reports.
  • Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
  • Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and AWS ‘big data’ technologies.
  • Work with all stakeholders to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure & reporting needs.
  • Maintaining data security at all times, identify & evaluate data risks, bringing solutions to management & implementing fixes aligning with business requirements.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in a Data Engineer role.
  • Preferred to have attained a Graduate degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems or another quantitative field.
  • Experience using the following software/tools a big plus:
    • Sage X3 ERP Systems & data structure.
    • Relational SQL databases, Postgres, MySQL, etc.
    • AWS cloud services
    • Object-oriented/object function scripting languages: Python, Java, C++, Scala, etc.
  • Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases.
  • Experience working with ERP databases; Sage X3 data experience a big +.
  • Experience building and optimizing data pipelines, architectures and data sets.
  • Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Strong analytic skills related to working with unstructured datasets.
  • Build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency, and workload management.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
