Title:Cultivation Manager Reports to:Director of Cultivation Department:Cultivation Required Permits/Licensing/Registration: Marijuana Establishment Agent Card, Pesticide Applicator License FLSA Status:Exempt Supervisory Responsibilities: Grow Supervisor(s)/Grower(s)/Grow Laborer(s) Overview: Following policies set forth by the Company, manage the overall day to day operation of the grow department to meet the annual propagation plan/harvest goals. Essential Functions: * Execute the annual propagation plan. Annually, review the propagation plan with Operations and the executive team to identify areas to improve on. * Manage all aspects of the grow department from cloning through harvest. * Schedule, delegate, monitor, coach, and train the cultivation staff on everyday departmental responsibilities including but not limited to; * supply organization * daily harvests * plant training * transportation of grow media (soil/coco) * transplanting into new vessels * sanitization of cultivation rooms and surrounding areas * propagation * equipment maintenance * decontamination of materials * pesticide application * Maintain accurate inventory counts and controls. To include both plant counts, metrc tags, and supply inventories. * Ensure that the Cultivation Department is compliant with all State and Federal regulations. * Thorough communication of any obstacles which limit department performance. * Relay to superiors any conditions observed that may affect the success of the department. * Perform and advise on the hiring and firing of the Deep Roots Harvest cultivation employees * Display comprehensive knowledge of employment law * Maintain accurate books and records of all activities performed in the cultivation area, and all cultivation processing areas including: * Daily Grow Room Logs * Crop Reports * Harvest Report * Cleaning Logs * Pesticide Logs * Monitor and advise on industry trends pertaining to cannabis cultivation Job Specifications: * Operate under the guidelines provided by company policies and procedures. * Ability to understand and achieve department and company goals in a timely manner. * Ability to communicate clearly whether verbally or in writing * Thorough command of compliance software and job specific information technology. * Adherence to all industry standards set forth by Local, State, and Federal regulations. * Capacity to direct staff to achieve daily directives and department goals. * Flexible work schedule required; to include covering a vacant shift and/or facility issues in emergency situations as needed. * Represent the company in a professional manner when communicating or interacting with all local community, state, or federal officials. * Observe and maintain all safety procedures and protocols * Develop a culture of teamwork, positive moral and mutual respect. * Other Duties as assigned Additional Functions: * Ability to be flexible and work in various sectors of the department or company as needed and/or requested by their direct supervisor. * Ability to listen well and communicate effectively orally and in writing with various audiences. * Ability to use initiative and independent judgment appropriately. * Ability to apply appropriate public relations skills in various situations and circumstances and to facilitate change as needed. * The ability to work in a fast-paced, changing and challenging environment. * Must be proficient in Windows based software and point of sale applications. * Must have excellent communications skills and attention to detail. * Ability to interpret, understand, and comply with complex statutes, ordinances, regulations, standards, and laws. * Understanding of applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations as they pertain to the industry, personnel law, safety regulations, local municipal codes and organizational rules, regulations, directives and standard operating procedures. * Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, management, governmental agencies, community members and the general public. * Ability to use standard office equipment, computer equipment and software including word processing, database management, spreadsheet applications and electronic mail. Has advanced experience in the structural pest control program to understand the rules and regulations related to minimum standards and be able to discuss with pest control operators.</p><p>Conducts complex inspections and/or investigations related to horticulture, quarantine and/or nursery work.</p><p>Collects routine official regulatory samples of seed, industrial hemp, fertilizer and agricultural lime from manufacturers, dealers, and farmers, as well as investigative samples due to complaints or as follow up to a previous sample collection.</p><p>Uses various electronic devices that assist in inspection/investigation documentation and keeps current with available technology by participating in training provided or by independent study. May serve on new technology pilot program to obtain and present feedback to management on the implementation of new technology for field inspections and investigations.</p><p>25% Administrative</p><p>Serves as lead-worker over Agricultural Environmental Specialists 1 and 2 and trains persons in these positions utilizing technical knowledge of regulatory programs and investigative techniques.</p><p>May assist the supervisor and/or manager in handling administrative functions for this unit, including but not limited to gathering EPA numbers from work reports, reviewing and compiling inspection reports. Independently and accurately responds to inquiries from regulated industries and the public.</p><p>Incumbent is required to operate and maintain a state vehicle in performance of duties and may be required to perform inspections of certified fields on horseback.
