About The Job

The Cultivation Technician III performs manual labor to assist in the upkeep, stocking, and fulfillment of growing cannabis, including, but not limited to; watering, feeding flushing, pruning, washing, cloning, transplanting, harvesting, and grow room maintenance independently in collaboration with the Cultivation General Manager. Performs training for all Cultivation Technician staff.

What You Will Do

• Perform all tasks in the indoor harvest grow

• Mother plant maintenance, cloning, transplanting, nutrients and pH management, water management, positive airflow, temperature and humidity control, pest and disease control, IPM program implementation, plant transfer from veg to flowering.

• Manage plant scheduling and organization to precisely project all plant needs on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis to produce the best results for maximum plant yield.

• Cataloguing and maintaining organization of plants, tags, and pruning biomass

• Knowledge of pest and disease control management a plus.

• Maintain and follow the cultivation department policies and procedures.

• Wash and sanitize all equipment. Scout all equipment, ensuring all tools are free of pests, viruses or disease.

• Must be able to adapt to various strains, styles and types of cannabis they are cultivating; adjusting techniques to maintain a steady pace and quality.

• Breakdown flowers off stem and stalk of plant to separate unusable waste from useable product; employee must track the amount of unusable waste for each batch.

• Knowledge or experience with METRC compliance is a plus.

• Demonstrate accurately and thoroughly in a timely manner to meet production standards.

• Work in a timely manner and strive to increase productivity.

• Maintain organization and cleanliness of the cultivation facility while performing job duties.

• Exhibit competency in basic organizational, tracking and communication skills.

• Works in a timely manner to efficiently meet goals while consistently producing quality product.

• Employee must be able to follow basic instructions and take constructive feedback from their managers to maintain quality standards and production goals.

• Employee must show up on time for work every day ready to work.

• Employee must exhibit personal hygiene and follow the health guidelines set forth by the company and the state while processing patient medicine.

• Cultivation staff is responsible for clean-up of all processing areas and equipment at the end of every shift.

• Provide team leadership and hands on support to the cultivation team across propagation, cultivation and harvest

• Implement regular solutions to plant health issues

• Escalate plant health and facility issues to the management team in real time to prevent long term negative effect on the cannabis crops and facility

• Other duties as assigned

What We Are Looking For

Minimum age of 21 years or older and pass a criminal background check

High school or equivalent

May require working rotating shifts with varied hours/day, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events

Previous Agricultural/warehouse/manufacturing/laborer Experience Preferred.

Adhere to company mission statement, while maintaining high ethical standards and professionalism.

Ability to be flexible and work in various sectors of the department as needed an/or requested by their direct supervisor; this may include but is not limited to, helping grow staff with small tasks, cleaning and/or moving supplies and equipment and/or helping the packaging department or working at other locations as needed.

Requirements:<p><b>Minimum Requirements:</b></p><ul><li>Bachelor degree in Agronomy, Plant Science or Horticulture.</li><li>Minimum of five years experience in horticultural production.</li><li>Current State pesticide license.</li><li>Bilingual – English/Spanish to be able to effectively communicate with staff.</li><li>Microsoft Office proficient.</li><li>Advanced knowledge of concepts about greenhouse operations, quality, and productivity.</li><li>Valid Driver License, clean criminal history, and drug-free</li><li>Good physical condition and able to work outdoors for extended periods of time.</li><li>Must demonstrate high ethical standards and set a positive example for crew members.</li><li>Current first aid/CPR certification, or ability and willingness to obtain one.</li></ul><p><b><br />Abilities Required:</b></p><ul><li>Excellent communication skills; able to speak effectively to employees, managers, and customers</li><li>Outstanding organizational skills</li><li>Attention to detail and accuracy, problem solving, managing processes and delegation of responsibilities.</li><li>Ability to read, comprehend and interpret operating instructions, training and procedure manuals, government regulations, agreements and contracts.</li><li>Ability to run/calibrate irrigation, fertilization and spray equipment required to achieve desired results.</li><li>Ability to test or have tested any plant, water or media to maintain the health of each plant variety.</li><li>Ability to test/interpret pH &amp; Electrical conductivity and how these, along with alkalinity affect the crops.</li><li>Willingness to work nights and/or weekends, hours will change based on business needs.</li><li>Ability to tolerate exposure to greenhouse elements such as heat, cold, water and dirt.</li><li>Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and able to stand for prolonged periods of time.</li><li>Ability to take initiative and work with minimum supervision, self motivated.</li></ul><p>PM19</p><p><br />PI141328891</p></div></div>","company":{"companyType":"Private/Established","name":"Speedling Inc.","logoUrl":"/logos/speedling-incorporated-af203198eea7a7ae282f1f29f6d7eee2.png"},"location":{"country":"United States","address":"Nipomo, CA 93444","city":"Nipomo","stateProvince":"CA"},"frontendLink":"/job-posting/speedling-inc/grower-manager/d77c99ee7702a410b3ab103faf7c17fc","title":"GROWER MANAGER","hash":"d77c99ee7702a410b3ab103faf7c17fc","postingUrl":"https://www.indeed.com/job/grower-manager-c7a44bbb1a2f9013"}]
