Business Intelligence Data Engineer

As a member of the Business Intelligence & Analytics team, the successful candidate will possess very strong technical and analytical skills to gather and analyze all forms of data in detail. You will support the cloud base enterprise data warehouse maintenance and modernization through your advanced knowledge of data orchestration, ingestion, and reporting. You will identify the business needs and requirements, assemble data sets through efficient data processing pipelines that balance speed and reliability. You will develop automated reporting solutions and deliver analytical results for the business across the company. You will be a key contributor who enables Aurora to make data driven decisions.

Main Responsibilities

• Maintain strong relationships with business stakeholders and work closely with Data Scientists, Analysts and Developers to ensure business needs are addressed.

• Maintain cloud base enterprise data warehouse and data marts.

• Automate reporting solutions and operationalize machine learning models.

• Implement optimised pipelines to extract and merge data sets from multiple sources.

• Perform data cleansing and transformation using advanced Azure tools.

• Work with the team to deploy new cloud-based reporting and analytics tools.

• Work side-by-side with the business SME’s, iterate the development in an agile fashion to build and test solutions with incremental changes.

• Set up automated deployment processes.

• Implement data process improvements such as optimizing data delivery and scalability.

• Execute multiple tasks simultaneously while exhibiting professionalism to ensure an incredible stakeholder experience.

Job Requirements

• Very strong experience in database systems including data warehouses and multi-dimensional analytic solutions.

• Deep understanding of cloud technologies and infrastructure for data retention and processing such as Microsoft Azure Data Lake, Functions, Data Factory and Databricks.

• Proficiency in scripting and programming using R and/or Python, C#.

• Strong experience with Microsoft Azure data ingestion. Demonstrated via hands-on project experience.

• Outstanding skills in Microsoft full BI Stack in Azure environment. Excellent SQL development skills to write complex queries involving multiple tables and develop stored procedures, triggers, user defined functions.

• Proficiency in Extracting, Transforming and Loading (ETL) data between data systems/ data warehouses. Experience in ETL change data capture methodologies and techniques, ETL data quality validation for mission critical data migrations.

• Experience in managing and deploying code to cloud services, including Azure DevOps experience.

• Working knowledge of Linux, Visual Studio.

• Hand on experience with deployment and monitoring of machine learning models.

• Hand on experience with Microsoft Power Suite – Power Apps and Power BI.

• Knowledge in statistics and data mining.

• Strong Agile project execution experience with proven ability to prioritize and manage time.

• Display teamwork and integrity with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders, and directly influence them in a positive and effective manner.

• Ability to work independently and in a cross-functional team environment and be comfortable in a dynamic, high growth environment.

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail with ability to meet tight deadlines.

This person must be willing to work long hours and be at the beck and call of our crops. In addition, this person must be comfortable executing routine tasks consistently, while always identifying ways to iterate our processes to achieve better results. This individual must also be humble and cautious, always being wary of what they don’t know and then working hard to close gaps in knowledge.</p><p><b>Job responsibilities include all aspects of indoor cannabis cultivation including, but not limited to:</b></p><p>• Feed, water, prune and manipulate production plants</p><p>• Evaluate health of plants and communicate both good and bad</p><p>• Follow an annual grow schedule while adjusting for changes</p><p>• Diligently keep equipment, irrigation system, tools, and area of operation clean and in functioning order</p><p>• Assist in non-assigned grow room duties when needed</p><p>• Execute foliar spray applications and drenches</p><p>• Maintain detailed logs of grow room actions</p><p>• Measure and mix nutrients stock tanks</p><p>• Input data and tag plants utilizing compliance reporting software</p><p>• Ensure compliance with local state and federal licensing requirements</p><p>• Consistently follow and execute cultural practices to a high standard</p><p>• Identify and propose process improvements to managers using data and logic</p><p>• Implement and execute best in class IPM procedures</p><p>Required Skills</p><p>• A degree in Horticulture, Plant Science or a related physical science degree</p><p>• Ability to precisely follow directions and work closely with the grow schedule</p><p>• Willing to rotate weekends and holiday shifts</p><p>• Self-motivated, self-starting, able to work without direct supervision and thrive in a fast-paced work environment</p><p>• Familiarity with Argus or other commercial greenhouse control systems</p><p>• High level of attention to detail, familiarity with plant diseases and pests and a keen eye when scouting</p><p>• Ability to lift heavy loads continuously (50 lbs) and be standing for extended periods</p><p>• A basic computer proficiency, including Excel and Google Sheets</p><p>• A valid Driver’s license and reliable transportation</p><p>• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment and multitask</p><p>• Ability to exercise sound judgment and take initiative</p><p>• 21+ ability to clear a state conducted background check</p><p>• Enthusiasm and a passion for growing cannabis!</p><p>Desired Skills</p><p>• 3-5 years of direct experience with commercial horticulture cultivation using soil / soilless media</p><p>• Experience with tissue culture is a plus</p><p>• Experience working in a regulated cannabis cultivation facility is not required, but is a plus</p><p>About Breakwater</p><p>Breakwater Treatment &amp; Wellness is New Jersey's most trusted source for premium cannabis.
