JOB SUMMARY

The Facilities & Machinery Technician provides on-site support for the facility staff.

The Facilities & Machinery Technician completes tasks assigned by the Facility Manager to install, repair, and maintain industrial electronic equipment, HVAC, and plumbing systems.

The Facilities & Machinery Technician maintains quality control measures to ensure optimal machine up time and performance and carries out day-to-day tasks.

The Facilities & Machinery Technician must monitor and maintain the production facility in accordance with the State and standards set by Cresco Labs.

CORE JOB DUTIES

Electronic Troubleshooting

• Thorough understanding of inputs and outputs

• Troubleshooting motors, VFD's, and analog signals

• Ability to identifying, replace, and troubleshoot faulty components

Mechanical Troubleshooting

• Identify mechanical wear items

• Understanding of conveyor systems

• Thorough understanding of batching/ weighing systems for food grade or pharmaceutical products

• Thorough understanding of packaging equipment

i. Label Applicators

ii. Weighing Systems

iii. Deposing Systems

iv. Liquid Fillers

v. Mixers

vi. Processing Equipment

vii. Remediation Equipment

• HVAC and Mechanical Systems specific to Agriculture and grow operations

i. Irrigation system troubleshooting and repair

ii. Nutrient delivery system troubleshooting and repair

iii. Troubleshoot and repair grow lights (paneling and generic light maintenance)

iv. Troubleshoot and repair thermostat repairs and controls, air motors, mechanical air delivery systems, etc.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND SKILLS

• Previous experience working with sophisticated electronic equipment and thorough understanding of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) required, preferably in the State of Massachusetts.

• Familiarity and experience with DMM (digital multimeter) is a must.

• Experience with strong mechanical aptitude preferred.

• PLC programming experience is desired but not required.

• Two years' experience in general agriculture or production of a regulated field producing goods for human consumption (food or pharmaceuticals) (understanding of HACCP and/or GMP preferred).

• A general overview of all mechanical systems within an industrial building is a plus.

• Effective time-management skills and the ability to multitask.

• Ability to stand, sit, kneel, work overhead, and lift equipment or product, up to 50 lbs., for extended periods.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment.

• Candidate must safely operate a fork lift or fork truck and have capacity to obtain a MA license.

• Advanced in Windows-based software applications. Proficiency in communication skills is paramount.

Reporting to the Facility Manager for the facility to which he/she is assigned, the Chief Engineer will work to oversee access, security, maintenance and services of the cultivation and processing facility to ensure optimum facility operation on a daily basis that provides for the work needs of the organization and its employees. In coordination with the Director of Facilities Engineering and the Facility Manager for their assigned facility, the Chief Engineer plans, implements, coordinates and manages all mechanical operations, maintenance, communications, energy management, and manpower development programs within their assigned production facility.</p><p>•</p><p>Manages the building's operational accounts and assists in development of operating and capital budgets both for their assigned facility as well as shared or company-wide systems, equipment or programs.</p><p>•</p><p>Assists in operations and maintenance issues, troubleshooting and problem solving as required.</p><p>•</p><p>Recommends and implements improvements for preventive maintenance programs on an on-going basis, maintains updated/current manuals from systems manufacturers. Develops/maintains effective building-specific maintenance and safety procedure manuals.</p><p>•</p><p>Coordinates maintenance efforts with outside contractors, tenant finish personnel and technicians. Oversees all building systems including fire/life safety, plumbing, HVAC and electrical issues and must remain current with latest HVAC technology trends.</p><p>•</p><p>Maintains on-going communication with facility management team and vendors; participates in facility management team meetings as required by the Facility Manager</p><p>•</p><p>May assist in solicitation and acquisition of new management contracts, especially as they relate to their assigned facility.
